You shouted a quick goodbye to your mother before running out the door on your way to school. Like always, you met Koori on the way and walked there with him.
"Itsuki, I have a plan!" you exclaimed.
"Good morning to you too."
You rolled your eyes. "Yeah, yeah, good morning. But I really do have a plan! A good one! But I need your help."
He raised an eyebrow. "I'm listening."
You leaned over and whispered your plan to him. When you were done, you leaned back and waited for his reply. He looked like he was trying to contain his laughter. "You want to join the football team?" he asked. You crossed your arms. "Yes! That's why I need your help. You teach me how to play, so I won't embarrass myself."
Long story short, he agreed and after a couple of weeks, you had improved your (*cough*lessthan*cough*) basic skills to decent skills. That's good, right?
It was a snowy morning, like almost always, as you made your way to the small building that the football club inhabited. You knew they were in there, as you could hear their voices.
You stood in front of the door, you wanted to open it, but your body seemed to have frozen. You took a deep breath and placed your hand on the handle. The handle that would change what seemed like everything... Just as soon as you pushed it. Your mind was buzzing with the possible outcomes.
Will they reject me?
Will they laugh?
Do they know me?
Do they hate me?
Do they think I'm annoying?
You were close to just giving up and leaving, but you shook your head and took another breath.
This isn't like you, (F/N). Pull yourself together.
But JUST as you were about to open the door, the handle went down by itself.
Crap.
You had already ran to the side of the small building as the members of the team walked out onto the pitch. Voices could be heard, along with a football hitting the ground and before you knew it, they were already training. You took this as an opportunity to peek around the side of the building, and take a look at the team. They were all so engrossed in their training, you were sure they wouldn't notice you. You stepped out from the side of the building and quietly walked over to the coach, Fubuki Shirou.
"Excuse me..." he turned to look at you with a slightly confused expression as you spoke.
You inhaled.
"I'd like to join the football club, please."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It had been a week or so since you joined the team, and it was far more enjoyable than you expected. You had grown into a promising player and were making friends with quite a few members of the team, even though you only joined to get closer to a certain indigo-haired striker.
It was practice time, but the coach was nowhere to be seen. Yukimura just happened to be the closest to you so you scooted over. He seemed to not notice you at first, but after a minute he suddenly turned his head to look at you.
"Who the hell are you?" he asked with a straight face.
"Nice to meet you too. And I joined the team like a week ago."
"Oh. You did? 'Kay, just don't get in my way." he averted his gaze to the empty spot where the coach usually was.
"Well, you're just a ray of sunshine, aren't ya?" you crossed your arms.
"No, that's Taiyou's job."
Taiyou...? Like... Amemiya Taiyou? Eh, who cares. (Oh my god I'm rereading this before publishing and Yukimura x Taiyou is actually my otp)
You ran a hand through your (H/C) hair. You could do this. You just needed to put more effort in than usual.
"Where do you think Fubuki-Kantoku is?" you asked him, trying to start some kind of conversation.
To your surprise, he actually gave a legitimate reply. "I don't know. He could be anywhere, but he's coming back." you could see his stoic expression falter for a moment. "He has to." your eyes widened at this. "Yukimura-senpai... Don't tell me you..." he turned to look at you with a slightly panicked expression. "I what?"
"The only way I can explain it is... Does the thought of being left behind, abandoned or betrayed scare you at all?" if he complied, this whole ordeal would be quicker and easier.
His eyes widened and the panic on his face seemed to multiply. "W-what?! Why would you think that?! OF COURSE NOT!" he yelled. Everyone stopped practising and looked at him. When he realised everyone on the team was staring at him, his face went red and he ran off.
Koori walked over to you. He looked concerned. "Is he okay? What happened?" you sighed and put your hands on your hips. "I'm not sure, but he's definitely... Special."
A small smile graced your lips as you let out a giggle.
I wonder what else he's hiding?
