not the ones that move shit around
and you hear about in stories
but the ones in your head
the ones that will always be there to remind you
the ones that plague you with the past
the ones that dig deep
the ones that hurt
perhaps they are called demons nowadays
my demons come every night to see me
clawing at my very existence
haunting me
they remind me of what was and what used to be
it hurts, being reminded late at night
until you're awake at 5am
wondering why
i'm haunted by demons that plague my thoughts
they search them for memories
in which they exploit
and remind
perhaps i'm just crazy in all honesty
or just broken like an old record
repeating the same tune
over and over
i'm just waiting until the day that it'll all be over
the day that i'll find someone new
to finally end the madness
that is heartbreak
