"Chiba!" He turned to his left and saw Nakamura, Hayami behind her. "Rinka and I are walking home together, you wanna join?"
"Sure."
They walked down the mountain to Kunigigaoka Station, time really does past quicker when you're with friends.
Hayami stopped.
"What's wrong?" Nakamura asked.
"It's Makoto-chan." Hayami explained.
"Ohhh~ Rinka, so how is it? Down, down, down in Class E?" Said Makoto.
Nakamura cut in, her arms folded. "Yeah, right. Says the one who also dumped all her homework abd assignments on Rinka, she's only with us because of you. Oh and guess what? Actually, no need to. She's more happier with us."
"You sure are cocky for a loser."
"You're still making fun of us even though we've got into the top fifty?"
Makoto hesitated. She walked away.
Chiba watched, it was all he could do. He had no idea who this Makoto girl is, what had happened between Hayami and her, he didn't have the courage to do anything at all. Instead of watching his partner taking in harsh words that were forced down her throat, he wanted to do something.
The thing is, Chiba is an introvert.
His old friends before E Class never made fun of him, instead, they ignored him.
Sometimes, a little bit of courage is what he asked for.
