"H-hey, umm... will you go out with me?!"
Hayami's mind went back that one time she saw Chiba with another girl in the park, that girl had courage to do what she couldn't do. Her mind went fuzzy, her heart was clenching and her lower stomach was attacked with an aching cramp. Feelings get worse when you're on your period.
"Hayami." Chiba called her name. "Look, I'm sorry. Can we at least be more than friends?"
Hayami didn't respond. She wondered, is it because of that girl? Even so, she couldn't blame Chiba. The sniper duo were going nowhere near their romantic future, how dare she become oblivious not knowing that there were other girls eyeing on Chiba?
"Best friends!" Chiba spat.
She didn't respond.
"Hayami... I'm sincerely sorry."
It wasn't the mature serious anymore, it was more bitter-like. She was jealous.
But could Hayami do? Despite the good looks and talent, the girl never had any experience when it came to romance. However, there was this one boy at her highschool who often hit on her but ut was no big deal. She always ignored him.
"Sorry." Hayami finally spoke. "My mind's a bit fuzzy, it's..."
There relationship wasn't static, right? Both wanted to do something, it was never as if neither weren't interested in each other.
"Do you need a rest?" Chiba kindly asked, of course, she almost forgot. They were still going to be best friends or at least close friends.
"N-no."
And they departed.
