The chocolate that Hayami gave him on Valentines' Day, were they out of love or obligation?
Now that he recalled, she was direct and never mentioned anything about love. Chiba automatically assumed she gave it to him due to the fact that thsy were partners in sniping, omitting the fact that they had went on dates before.
And if the chocolates were out of love, he'd much prefer if she gave it him with a heartwarming smile and saying stuff like, "I really like you, let's do our best on sniping and our relationship," rather than, "I respect you."
So it was obligation, but should he ask anyways?
"H-hey Hayami."
Hayami turnwd to him. "Yeah?"
"The chocolates you gave me on Valentines' Day, were they-"
"They were given out of obligation." She answered quickly, not waiting to hear what else he had to say. The latter was just too embarrassed.
