"So, how are we going to escape?" I asked Susanna.
"Oh, your majesty, it has been a long day for you. You don't look so well right now. You must rest in the master bedroom." Susanna said as loud as she could.
This must be a part of her plan.
The two previous knights came and escorted me to one of the rooms. The room was quite big but there were a lot of boxes and stuffs on the floor. It had one wooden bed which had just been covered with a silk bed cover.
"Your highness, is there anything else that you require?" one of the knights asked.
"I don't need any of your help. However, I require my friends assistance." I stated.
"Very well, then." both of them bowed and made way for my friends to enter.
The knights closed the old wooden door behind them and stood right outside.
"So, what is your plan?" I asked.
"I've read an ancient book that tells the story about this place." Susanna said in a low voice to avoid being heard by the knights. She then continued, "A young girl, was locked in this room for her safety. However, she wanted to go out and explore the world."
"Queen Natalia?" Jack asked.
Queen Natalia Rose Dewitt. She was the first person to explore Laricienne and discovered about the witches' existence. She then became a princess serving under the witches. She is my great great grandmother.
"Yes, Queen Natalia. She escaped from this room through a secret tunnel she made. If we're lucky, we might be able to find it!" Susanna stated.
"Okay, let's find that tunnel!" I said.
We searched every nook and cranny for the tunnel, but we found nothing except for some insects and junks.
"Are you sure it's here?" Jack asked Susanna.
"Positively sure! It's my fav book, I couldn't have forgotten it!" she stated.
"I'm not going to continue searching! There are just too many insects!" Tiffany, who was standing on the bed stated.
Everyone here looked kind of exhausted and there were not a single sign of a passage way out of here. Maybe we should just find another way.
"Hey, let's stop for now. Maybe we should find another way." I said.
"It's here, but I don't know where she hid it." Roselle stated as she picked a cockroach up and started patting it gently.
"GET THAT AWAY FROM ME!!!" Tiffany screamed when she saw the cockroach.
Suddenly, the two knights bulged in.
"What happened!? We heard a scream!" one of them asked.
"Nothing! Just some insects... Now go back outside, there's nothing to worry about." Jack replied, glaring at Tiffany.
The knights nodded and went back out.
"That was close..." Elianor sighed and leaned on the pale brown wall.
In a blink of an eye, Elianor fell backwards on the broken piece of wall. Turns out, it was the door to the secret tunnel! The tunnel was quite small and the walls were uneven.
Luckily, it didn't make a loud sound as there were some old pillows underneath the wall. Queen Natalia was certainly a smart person.
"You found it, Elianor!" Susanna said as she helped Elianor to stand up.
"Finally, let's go! Susanna, since you know a lot about this place, why don't you lead the way?" I asked.
"Really? Thanks!" she replied and started walking into the darkness with a wooden torch to light up the way.
We walked carefully into the depths of the tunnel. In some parts, it got more dangerous as we had to crouch down a bit to avoid the rocks. Queen Natalia must've spent years to build this tunnel.
After nearly an hour, we finally made it out safely.
"Okay, I need you guys to hear out my plan." I said, gathering them around and continued, "Sir Raymond would be really pissed off if he knew we escaped. So, we need to avoid him at all costs and probably disguise ourselves. You guys should hid among the other knights and prepare to fight. In the meanwhile, I'll search for Adal."
The girls exchanged glances at each other.
"Your highness, we really missed Adal and we would do anything to safe her. But... I think that we should focus on the war first. Maybe if we managed to end it, we would have a better chance of finding her." Tiffany stated.
"Are you sure?" I asked.
"Yeah, she's a tough girl. She's going to be alright. For now, we should win this war for her. For everyone whom had sacrificed their lives to end this war!" Elianor reassured.
I looked at their faces one by one. They looked so confident. I wondered how they can be so strong while I'm feeling so anxious that I might no be able to breathe right now.
"It's okay, Niel. We can do this. You can do this." Jack said as he gave a pat on my shoulder.
"Wait, where's Roselle!?" Susanna asked.
We looked around us but there was no sight of her. Only a thick forest around us and the secret tunnel we entered before.
"She might still be inside the tunnel." I stated.
"No, she was just right beside me!" Susanna panicked and started shouting Roselle's name.
"Su! Stop shouting! Someone else might hear you." Tiffany demanded.
"But Roselle.." Susanna sobbed.
"We'll find her later. She might've gone to the castle for all that we know. There's no other place that she would go to." Tiffany stated.
"What if she was kidnapped?" Elianor asked.
"There was no one else here except us." Jack replied.
"Let's hurry. We might be able to find her along the way!" I said as I lead us into the thick, dark forest.
There was no reason for Roselle to wander off by herself. She had always followed Tiffany's orders and stayed by her friends' side. Why would she leave them now? Moreover, where would she be going to?
-----
Is anyone reading this story? I would truly appreciate it if you could vote and maybe comment if you like. But I'm not forcing you. It's just that I think that nobody is even reading this book and it's like I'm talking to myself. ;-;
It would be really nice if you could tell me your opinion on my story. Maybe some suggestions on how I could improve? Or maybe if there's anything you want me to explain?
Cause I don't know if you could understand this story. A friend of mine said that she was confused at first so I thought that maybe my readers are confused too.
You can ask me anything and I'll try my best to answer. I do hope that you'll continue reading.
Thank you~
*The next chapter might take awhile since I'm going on a long holiday and there might be no internet connection.
