Eyes on You

Chapter 12

After the 'date', you've been daydreaming a lot more often; just thinking about Brendon. His dreamy eyes, cute lips, everything about him is perfect. You would stay out of focus in class, during lunch, while conversing with friends, etc. But you do notice something. F/n. She seems distance lately. Is it just you feeling that way or something happened that you didn't notice? Unfortunately, you are too busy dreaming about Brendon that you often let it slip your mind. Though there's this tiny bit part of you that worry too much. You are actually still confused of your relationship with Brendon. You don't want it to be one-sided. So you have always been extra careful too. Sigh, this is why you kinda hate falling in love. It actually gives your more headache. Oh, and one more thing. Patrick. Another problem you still need to worry about. Great, just great.

& speaking of Patrick, he is now approaching you. Crap! If you're not too busy thinking about Brendon just now you could have probably make an escape. "Hey." Hmm. He seems different today, even the way he greets you. So you just reply, "Hey." A brief silence for a moment, then he speaks, "You know what, I need to talk to you. Like, a proper talk. I hope we could meet at *random café* after school?" He really isn't like himself. He even sounded...down you guess? Declining his offer would make you feel really bad considering the situation now. "Sure." You give him a simple reply, then smile at him in hope to make him feel better maybe. Patrick just smile a bit at you, then he's off to somewhere. Suddenly, your mind takes you back to what happened on Sport's Day. What Brendon had said. Could it be the reason behind all these? The reason why Patrick is not being like Patrick before? You panic for a moment. Oh gosh, everything is complicated right now.

Time passes on quickly that day. As much as you want this day to end, you can't help your heartbeat getting faster. Welp, it's now or never. You gotta face it anyway. So you make your way to *random café* nearby. Entering the café, your eyes are met with the back of a guy in truck hat, sitting on a far corner. You quickly recognize it's Patrick so you approach him. "Sorry to keep you waiting." You said as you sit on the chair opposite him. "Oh, hey Y/n. No, not at all. I was just here anyway." Patrick then replies with a slight smile. You both sit in an awkward silence. "Soooo......" You attempt to break the silence. But Patrick cuts you off. "Listen, Y/n. I need to talk to you about...umm...what happened on Sports Day." You fall silent again. You don't feel like talking about it. If possible, you wanna forget about it. "So, uh...referring to that day...I'm guessing, you & Brendon are dating??" Think Y/n, think! What would be the best answer for him now? Will you risk yourself and tell him about your little secret with Brendon? Nooo...So you decide to play along. Plus, you and Brendon did go for a 'date' last weekend.

"Well, yeah." You know it would break his heart. But, for how long can you keep it going? Patrick sighs, not long after he says something. "First of all, I-I wanna say sorry coz I never know about the thing that you and Brendon have." You don't know what to respond. Then he continues, "B-but...I want you to know something as well. I had feelings for you, since my first day at school." You still keep quiet. You're glad for the answer you gave him before. If not, the complication between the three of you would be endless. "P-please say something. Did I make you feel uncomfortable?" Only now you realize that you've been quiet for some time. "I-I dunno what to say. I wanna say sorry too I guess." "No, no. There's nothing you need to be sorry for." Patrick gives you a soft smile. So you reply his smile. Finally, you feel as if a burden is lifted off your shoulders.

"There's one more thing I wanna tell you..." Patrick suddenly starts.

"What is it?"
