Chapter 9

Jughead's POV

Today was Betty's first ultrasound for the baby.  Don't tell Betty, but I was super excited to see our little one and possibly know it's gender.
I also applied for a job at Mr. Andrews' construction company, and I was hoping to get the results from Archie today. I didn't want to tell Betty until I knew for sure I got the job though.
Betty was upstairs getting ready while I was eating breakfast from Pop's.
I heard her walk down the stairs.
"Morning Juggie, how do I look?"

"Wow, uh, Beautiful as always Betty, are u ready to go see Dr. Robbins*?"
"Yep, I think so"

At The Clinic

"Morning Betty, Jughead, are you ready for your ultrasound?"
"Ready as we'll ever be Dr. Robbins"
"Ok, Betty if u'll just lay right here and lift up your shirt; the gel will be a little cold"

"And there's your baby"

I looked at the monitor in shock. There, on the screen, was our baby.

The baby that I was gonna raise with Betty, and be the best dad I could be.

"So Jughead Jones is a softy after all"
I came back to reality and realized I had shed a tear. I quickly wiped it away and looked at Betty. She was smiling ear to ear.

After The Ultrasound

"Jughead, will you come here a moment"
"Of course Doctor"
She walked me into the hallway, and as I left I could see worry in Betty's eyes. I was worried as well. Was there something wrong with the baby?

"Is something wrong Doc?"
"No, of course not, I just wanted to tell u that I have the gender of your child"
"Really? Wow that's, that's amazing, um is it possible u could put it in an envelope for us? I have been thinking of throwing a party for Betty"
"Of course."
