Emily's POV
"Happy birthday Kayla!!" I shouted, jumping on her bed.
"Emily!! get off," Kayla shouted, rolling over.
"Wake up!! it's your birthday!!" I shouted again.
"Fine, fine I'm up!" she shouted back, sitting up.
"What are we doing today?" Kayla asked.
"Well I'm taking you shopping, and then there will be a surprise later on tonight," I said to Kayla, winking.
"Oh I see," she said winking back.
We both got dressed and headed out to get a taxi to the mall.
"To Melba mall please," I said to the cab driver, while he nodded.
We arrived at the mall, and went straight to the stores.
"Which shop should we go to first?" I asked Kayla.
"Hmm how about Abercrombie?" she asked.
"Okay, let's go," I replied as we headed of.
We went inside Abercrombie, and I'm not going to lie, the cashiers that worked their were cute.
"What are you going to get?" I asked Kayla, while I was looking at the skirts.
"Hmm, I'm going to go try stuff on," she replied, and went to the change room.
I waited a couple minutes, until Kayla came out.
"What do you think?" she said, twirling around.
She was wearing a light pink crop top with a lace back and a pair of high waisted demon shorts, topped of with a beige cardigan.
"Oh gosh, you have to wear that tonight, Trevor will go crazy!!" I screamed.
"Please be quiet," one of the cashiers said.
I laughed, "sorry," I replied.
"So should I buy it?" Kayla asked me.
"Yes, but I'm going to buy it all for you as your present," I said, getting out my wallet.
"Really?" Kayla asked excitedly.
"Of course! now go change so I can pay for it," I said.
Kayla when and changed into her normal clothes, and I went and payed for the outfit.
After Abercrombie, we went to a couple more stores, like bath and body works, and we brought some perfume.
"I'm hungry," Kayla said, rubbing her stomach.
"Me to!" I said.
"We should go to that cafe we went to on the first night!" she shouted.
"Yeah, and now I actually have money," I replied, and we both laughed remembering our first night together.
We arrived at the cafe and ordered some fries and 2 milkshakes.
"Remember when the "gang" walked in," Kayla said , laughing.
"Yeah! and then you stole their fries!" I shouted back, laughing as well.
We finally got our food, and started eating.
"So, does Nash know about you and Sam?" Kayla asked.
"No, if he finds out, Sam will get hurt," I replied, quietly.
"Yeah, I promise I won't tell." Kayla replied , which made me smile.
It was about 3pm when we arrived back at the foster home, so we decided to just relax before the party. Kayla started writing in her book, while I went on my phone and texted Sam.
Emily and Sam's conversation-
E/ hey💕
S/ hi☺️ wyd?
E/ getting ready for Kayla's party.
S/ me to, and so is Trevor 😉
E/ they are so cute together.
S/ yeah, but not as cute as us ;)
E/ cheesy much?
S/ yeah, pretty cheesy.

I was happy, we just had a conversation where we didn't worry about Nash. Kayla finished writing in her book and we started getting ready for her party.
"How should I wear my hair?" Kayla asked me, looking in the mirror.
"A messy ponytail!" I said, putting on my makeup.
"Really?" she asked.
"Yeah, your good at those," I replied.
Kayla tied up her hair, and of course it looked perfect.
We finally finished getting ready and these were our outfits.
Kayla- clothes she brought before, messy ponytail, and white vans.
Emily- floral short sleeved dress, with cut out back. black converse, and loose curls.
"Oh my gosh Kayla, you looks so beautiful!" I said.
"So do you!" she replied back.
" We look like tumblr girls," I said, laughing.
"I wish," Kayla said, as we both laughed.
We headed downstairs and caught a cab to the park. when we arrived, there were lights strung everywhere and tons of food.
This was going to be a fun night.
Kayla's POV
I stared at the park in awe. I can't Believe people liked me enough to do this. Last year for my birthday, I just smoked an extra pack, Now that I think about smoking, I haven't done it since I met Emily.
I ran up to Emily and have her a hug.
"Thank you," i whispered.
"For what?" she asked, hugging me back.
"For everything," I smiled, as she smiled back.
Tonight was going to the best birthday ever.
