I traveled through the maze of trees once again, yet this time it had a feeling of serenity. The little cutie kept falling or bumping into trees since he forgot to put his glasses back on. I didn't want to tell him because he looked so cute and clumsy, and every time he fell or hit his head I either caught him or checked the wound.

So when we finally arrived at my cabin the rain just started to fall, perfect timing. I opened the door for him and he smiled as he walked through the doorway. I walked in after him and shut the door.

I lead him to the bathroom so he could change, then I started to create a fire in the fireplace. He came back in his white t-shirt, jacket, and jeans. I sat on the couch after getting some popcorn, Dennis sat down next to me and smiled.

"Thanks again for letting me stay here for the storm." He repeated for like, the eleventh time already.

I smiled and ruffled his hair slightly, which he was not happy about. "Any time, need anything? Food? Popcorn?" I held out the bowl of popcorn to him but he simply shook his head smiling.

I shrugged and placed the popcorn in my lap and ate some as I turned on a tv movie. After a couple of minutes, I figured I should ask some questions. Why not right?

"Hey, why were you crying the other night? If you don't mind me asking." I turned to look at his face still eating, he looked back at me a bit shocked but nodded.

"I just got into a fight with someone, nothing really important." He smiled and looked away, I heard him trying to hide a sigh but he didn't hide it well.

I decided to take a risk and cup the side of his cheek to face me. "Hey it's ok, what's wrong? I heard that sigh so don't sigh nothing is wrong." I turned my smile into a soft one trying to confront him.

He blushed and looked away from me, but I still held his cheek. "M-my boyfriend broke up with me that night." He stuttered slightly and closed his eyes. To my surprise, he let his cheek fall into my hand slightly.
"Oh, I'm so sorry." I pulled him into a hug gently patting his back. Again, to my surprise, he hugged me back tightly.

We sat there hugging for a while and he started to cry after a couple of minutes. He hid his face in my shoulder while he cried, but he froze when there was a knock at the door. To be honest, I did a bit too.

He started shaking violently and whimpering. I gave him that look that says 'What's wrong?', all he did was show me a text number and pointed to the name. It was named 'Ex-Boyfriend', I was shocked and held him closer as he buried his face back into the crook of my neck starting to quiet down.

I thought we could just wait until they go away, but they didn't. The knocking just got louder and louder. We sat there hugging for a while, every time they knocked Dennis jumped slightly.

All of a sudden the knocking stopped. I took this opportunity to quietly lock and barricade all the windows and door. Dennis hugged one of the throw pillows next to him.

After I did everything I came back over to him and he instantly jumped up and hugged me, I hugged him back of course but he clung his legs around my body as well. It was adorable so I just sat down on the couch rubbing his back.

After a couple of minutes I was about look outside to check if he left, but then I heard yelling. It was like his voice but with an Irish accent. Dennis held on to me tighter and was starting to cry more. The guy was yelling curses in English and the rest was just Irish I think.

He left off with a curse and punching the door, so much I saw a crack form. After about an hour I got up still carrying Dennis and looked out the door after taking everything out of the way. He was gone. I sighed and sat back down with Dennis as he cried louder.
