Like the Crowd

Waking up early,
I rinsed myself,
dressed up,
and went to school.

I sat lone on my chair,
quietly rotating my head over the empty classroom.
My stare stopped when I saw your chair,
unconsciously laid lifeless and bare.

I tiptoed and hurriedly sat on it,
touching every detail of its flair and hue.
How once you happily sat here,
smiling upon everybody's sight.
Gleaming on everybody who's dear,
And I, was simply contented by your mere distant light.

I huddled closer to your armchair,
there I sat, reminiscing without fear.
How you passed by my face each day,
not a word,
not a greeting from your mouth would I hear.

How I secretly cared for you in a corner,
mutely speaking my unrequited feelings,
I quiver, sob, subsequently falter.
You were happy with someone else,
that's the truth,
And me, drained out yet hoping,
stood by your back beyond every weeping.

As I caressed your beautiful name posted on the chair,
steps were audible,
so I dauntlessly sat,
ready for any dare.
Yet no one was there,
all I could do was stare.

I quickly hugged your chair and uttered hopeless words you would never ever hear: "I hope you'll love me someday. Even after I'm hollow, consumed, because of loving you."

Please don't show interior misunderstood motives,
I'll surely hope that you've got darned acceptable emotional infinitives.

Sudden steps lingered across the hall outdoor,
So I hurriedly stood up and left your chair for mine.
And in a split millisecond,
others were already barging in my silent haven,
the lone yet potent sanctuary of you & me.

Then I was embarrassed that I took advantage of your plastic lifeless chair,
I silently composed myself,
tying back all of my loose hair.

Then suddenly you entered,
flashing that charming ruthless smile.
There I was ashamed,
yet more people came in.

Your face tattooed inside my cerebrum,
I had no more legit melody to hum.

So I silently bowed,
forever with doubt,
as I quietly blended in,
just like the crowd.
