Luke read the article as he tried to remember what had happened. The tail color was a blueish color but it could have been the light reflecting on the water. The sound of feet coming down the stairs was heard as Craig sat down on the couch.
"whatcha got there?" Craig asked as he leaned over to see what Luke was reading. He took the phone and quickly looked at the article. After reading through it he looked at Luke.
" Come on Luke, you can't possible believe that we were attacked by a mermaid." Craig said as he saw the fear on Luke's face. He moved in front of Luke and saw the fear in his eyes.
"hey whats wrong?" Craig asked as he tried to get Luke to talk. " I saw it." Luke said as he looked at Craig, eye to eye.
" Saw what? The mermaid?" Luke nodded his head. " But it was a male."" you saw a merman?" Craig asked as Luke nodded his head. Craig chuckled as he tried to lighten the mood but failed. " But how did you see him?" Craig asked as Luke took a breath.
" When I went back to get the things, I was looking for my necklace. I saw it in the water. I saw him right in front of my face. He dragged me under and for some reason he let me go." Luke said as he took his phone away from Craig. Luke's eyes widened as he saw Craig had hand prints on his neck.
The prints where a light purple as they darkened. " Craig, you do realize that in one of the stories that victim had hand prints on their neck and they didn't make it." Craig's eyes widened as he felt his neck.
" They tried to kill you and you got away." Luke said as Craig looked a bit scared now. Craig saw the next sentence in Luke's eyes as he felt fear go through him. " Luke don't say it." Craig begged as he got closer.
" We need to go back." Luke said as Craig hung his head. Luke got up and started to mess with things. Craig looked up as he saw Luke grab a net.
"What are you doing?" " We are going to catch it." Luke answered. Craig sighed as he got up and walked towards Luke.
" How do you expect to catch something that might not be there?" Craig asked as he watch Luke continue to pull the net. " Well I have a plan." Luke said as he pulled the net and placed it in a bag.
" Would you like to tell me. Because I don't know what the hell your doing." Luke turned to Craig and explained his plan. " I'm going to lure one into the net and you are going to pull it out of the water. I'm going to take the camera and get video proof." Craig shook his head in confusion.
" Well what are you going to do with it after wards. uh. You can't keep it and I know you wont let it go." " Well...I don't know, maybe I will let the government decide. They have been looking for mystical creature lately." Luke said as Craig walked away.
" Luke this isn't going to work." Craig said as he sat down. " Yeah it is. We just have to try our best. Now go get some sleep and we will leave first thing in the morning." Craig scoffed as he left and went to his room. Luke continued to gather things. When Luke was done he looked at the time and saw it was 3:15 AM, he sighed and went to bed.
