: Family Tree

{ I am hella sorry for how long I spent discussing her family but coming from a Spanish background myself, I wanted to be as extra as ever and also, cause the story to have a little plot twists as well in the future hehe }

- 4 weeks later -

I dragged my suitcase along with me as I looked back at Sophia who was struggling to get past the crowds of people. My eyes felt heavy and all I really needed was my comfy bed and my fuzzy socks as my feet were frozen. Although LA was freaking hot all year round, when it was cold, it was cold.

We were back. We had been travelling since October and it was now almost the end of February. I could personally say that this was the best experience of my life and I wouldn't change it for anything. Not even meeting Justin because as much as I hated what had happened between us and how much of my trip was ruined just because of the countless nights I was up thinking about it, I still had learnt so much. And of course, the time I had spent with him when he was in Spain with me and after over the phone, it felt good. Too bad it couldn't last.

Justin attempted his acts of making me jealous countless times, wanting a reaction. But over the course of 4 weeks, the attention seeking and occipital liking of my instagram came to a complete stop and it was as if he was out of my life once and for all. I didn't really know how to feel about it but it felt good to not think about past events, every single day and as hard as it is to call it the past, it was what it was.

The past. And I was ready to look towards my future and living in the present, which I had gotten better at doing in recent events.

"Text me when you get to your apartments guys" I told them both as I hugged them goodbye. We each were taking separate Uber's to our homes and so this is where we parted for the first time in months. I lived with my mom however, I also had a lease with Sophia and so I owned the apartment too as I paid half of its rent. I had clothes / belongings their and I had double at my own house and I just switched back and forth. However, we only had been living in that apartment as a month later after high school, we were already travelling and so now it became real and I was half moving out and half living at home. It was easier to be fair.

After saying goodbye, I got in to my Uber and the driver drove off.

I scrolled through my messages, texting my mom that I was in the Uber on the way home and I could tell she was over the moon about me coming home, as was I. My relationship with my mom was stronger than with my dad. Even though me and dad were really close and he basically managed my business for me, me and my mom had been living with another since they got a divorce and since my dad lived in Miami, I only really saw him for business. However, my mom and dad maintained a pretty good relationship as they equally made the effort and my dad still came to visit every change he got.

Once I arrived at my house, the driver pulled up at the gates and I thanked him before I got out. He helped me with my things and he then left. I rang the doorbell, already know the password to the gates which only meant I needed the door to be answered and I was closer to my bed then I had been in a while.

Not long after, my mom opened the door.

With the biggest smiles on both of our faces and joy in our eyes, she pulled me in for a hug.

"Aw I missed you mi amor!"

"I missed you more mama"

I left my bags in the hall as she took my hand and led me to the kitchen where to my surprise stood a bunch of members from my family.

My sister, Camila, who stood with her husband Lucas and their son who was 2 years old who's name was Nate, well Nathanial however my sister always wanted to call her son Nate but my mom wouldn't except JUST Nate. He was the only nephew that I had but I freaking adored him. He saw me as his second mom, best friend and whatever else and I missed him most of all as when I had left he barely knew how to walk and I was teaching him how to say my name and now, after his second birthday, he knew my name and said it in the cutest way possible. Cuter than Justin ever did.

My brother, Sebastian who was 17 years old also stood with his two friends who I knew were only here so that they could play PlayStation with him but of course, being a part of the family my mom probably forced them to stand together and smile for me.

My moms two sisters who happened to be twins and my moms 3 brothers also happened to be here and so was my grandma who basically saw me any time of the week, the woman was a trooper. My mom had 6 siblings however the forth brother who was the oldest, he lived in Portugal with his family and so we rarely ever saw him however, the three who lived close by were like my best friends and uncles all in one. Uncle Tony- short for Anthony, was the joker of the group. Of course they were all equally funny but since he was the youngest out of the siblings, he and I got on the most as he acted like a 12 year old most of the time and I'm pretty sure everyone had a Uncle Tony in their family who just made any family event lit.

Then there was Uncle Nico who was the chill but also cool uncle who I would come to all the time for money, I'm not even kidding, he knew if I was with him, I was just going to rob his coins and go shopping but this was when I was pretty young. It hasn't changed though.

And then finally, there was Uncle Emilio who was the dad of the group. Who was the second oldest and acted like my dad most of the time. Ever since I was a baby, he and I had a bond like no other. He was the one that pretty much all of the kids of the family were afraid of getting told off by as he was literally everybody's dad. Even my moms. But he was totally funny and he wasn't scary at all, I just chose not to get on his bad side otherwise he would attempt to ground me and tell me I wasn't allowed any contact with the outside world until next year.

Then there were the twin sisters, Natalia and Natacha. They were literally the most craziest, loudest and funniest people you'd ever come across as they made everything and anything a good time. My mom a little bit more chill but I think it just ran in the Hispanic blood or something? I was totally like Uncle Nico who just kept to himself and didn't bother anyone.

My uncles had children off their own, apart from Uncle Tony who told me that he was never having children although his girlfriend Sam was pretty baby crazy and always told me how she wanted a whole load of kids.

Uncle Nico was married to his wife Daniela and they had 3 kids. Nathan was 18, Samuel was 14 and they had one younger sister, Victoria who was 10.

And then there was Uncle Emilio who was married to his wife Hailey and they had 4 children. Two of which were twins who were Jay and Leah who were 19 years old. Despite them not being identical, I still saw major similarities which they hated when I pointed out as they had this sibling rivalry as Jay was totally loved by everyone in the family, well all of the kids were but most of all, the boys. Then there was Jessi and he was 17 and finally Amelia who was 15.

And then my two aunts, Anna and Valerie, one of this was married.

Anna was unmarried but had a boyfriend called Harley and they had two children, Charlie who was 21 and Becca who was 18. They still hadn't gotten married yet however, everyone knew that Anna wasn't the big wedding kinda girl and didn't really think it was that important which was totally however, that didn't stop my grandparents grilling her for being unmarried with two kids.

Then finally, there was Aunt Valarie who was married and had one kid who was Damián and was 8.

That was my family tree, for my mom side but trust me, there was so much more that I just hadn't searched in to yet.

And EVERYONE was here. The kitchen was decorated with welcome back bunting and balloons that literally floated about everywhere. The kitchen island was filled with all types of snacks and pizza and soda and a little alcohol but of course that was the for grown ups.

"Welcome home!" They all yelled, my nana being the last to say it as she was a little slow but I freaking loved her so much.

As I went through everyone, hugging them and as they gave me the most amount of kisses, I got to my uncle Tony who grabbed me and hugged me.

"You better not leave again Anny" he told me, using the nickname that only he could call me. If anyone else did it was for sure war.

"I won't uncle Tony" I laughed as I hugged back.

Although I was tired and I still wanted my bed, whenever I was around my family, everything else was left to the side as I loved them all so much. Even if sometimes I got confused with their names and called Jay Jessi and Jessi Charlie and Charlie Uncle Harley. It was mess.

My mind was cleared of any negativity and that was all I need right about now.
