Fred couldn't help but touch her when they were performing the ceremony. Serena would sometimes look away and that's when he would take advantage of the moment.

After the ceremony was finished, Offred returned to her room. Fred zipped his pants and wore his jacket.
- I'm going to be in my office. I don't want anyone to disturb me.
He left Serena there, looking distracted and anxious. Offred had just closed the door of her room when it opened in a rush. Fred got in and immediately grabbed her face and kissed her.
- Oh, I love you so much. I love you so much. - Fred please..

Offred closed her eyes and kissed him softly. He hugged her one more time then left. She was feeling so tired, so.. hopeless. Everything scared her now.
