It's that time! Mating Season!

Chapter 10

Mira's POV:

The group that went to Porlyusica's came back late and I was having a hard time making everyone go home for the night.

"I know you're all worried about the boys but you have to give them time and what makes you think that they are going to want to come back to the guild anyway. They are probably very shaken up and I'm surprised that they agreed to come here before hand anyway." I sigh and wait for them to leave but soon the doors creak open.

Everyone's head turns in the direction of the noise where we see the group talking and they all had a smile on their face. At the back of the group was Natsu sleeping in Gray's arms. I quietly fangirl and put on a big smile.

"Hey everyone, how did it go?" I ask sweetly and they all sit at the bar in front of me. The guild goes silent as to hear what happened.

"Well long story short I died and came back to life, but good news is, Natsu got his mark removed." Gray says shaking a still sleeping Natsu, who he'd placed in the bar stool next to him.

The guild gasped and my jaw dropped. "You died?" I asked and he nodded. "Yeah, as we ran out of time I slowly lost my will to live... I-I, I thought I was gonna lose him." Gray said as he began to cry. Natsu woke up and hugged him tightly. "Sorry guys, just hated today, a lot." He says and wipes his eyes.

"We're going, I'm tired and just want to lay down." Gray says and pulls Natsu with him from the guild. "Happy stay at Lucy's or something." Natsu says tiredly as he trudges along behind the now half naked ice mage. I walk over to where his shirt landed and pick it up. Only then do I notice something. There's blood on his shirt.

"Anyone want to explain why there's blood on his shirt." I ask the others and Levy nods. "Well he was coughing up blood so I assume it just pooled up on his shirt." I nod and walk back to the bar and place it in the back to give back to him the next day.

Master and Erza sit down in front of me and I bring master a drink and Erza a slice of cake.

"So Erza, Mira, I need your help with something...."

Natsu's POV:

We arrive at Gray's apartment and I walk to his kitchen. "Really, you come over and the first thing you do is look for food?" Gray asks and I turn. "Have you met me?" I ask in a 'duh' tone, "Do you even know me?" I ask he holds his hands up in surrender. "Fine but if you make something will you make me some too?"

"Sure." I reply and turn back to the cupboard. As I look through them I eventually settle on making a simple dinner of Ramen. As I cook the food, Gray walks up to me and wraps his arms around my waist and kisses my cheek. He lays head on my shoulder and begins shaking. 

"Hey, what's wro-" I turn to see him crying silently. I place a hand on his cheek and ask, "What's the matter, why're you cryin'?"

"Well," He looks into my eyes and then wipes away his tears, "I mean, we almost lost each other, and I mean I know that this happened really suddenly. I mean just a little over a week ago we were fighting and insulting each other and then we suddenly were inseparable. When I realized you were my mate I kinda freaked out and my instincts and protective side took over." He wipes his eyes again.

"Then when Erza took me down to the basement to keep me from hurting you, I knew you'd begun crying and I resisted. She didn't really like that so she threatened me with you. Even in my innate state, I was still conscious and could tell that I was hurting you but I couldn't do anything about it. I wasn't really able to control the instincts. Now, with what we've been through I know a bit more about controlling myself when I feel that you're threatened." He finishes and I nod.

"I understand, and I know how you felt. I can't say that this has been a good experience but it definitely helped us a lot, and you're right, it did happen quickly. But that doesn't really matter to me, I've always known there was something more between us, but I never really acknowledged it." I place my forehead against his and close my eyes.

I place a quick peck on his lips and turn back to our food. "Hey."

"What?" I ask.

"So I heard from Lucy that Lisanna gave you a hard time... what exactly did she do?" He questions. I freeze, I'd almost forgotten about the take-over mages outburst. "Natsu?"

"oh it was nothing, she um... she just got a little upset about me being a submissive because she wanted to be my mate..." I trail off and pour our food into a bowl and place a pair of chopsticks in each.

"Natsu.... don't lie to me." I place the bowls down on the table and avoid his gaze. "Natsu."

"O-ok," I sit next to him, "She freaked out and yelled at me. A lot. She, well when I told her that she wasn't my mate and that I was a submissive she began to yell, so I covered my ears and the blanket I had covering myself with fell and she saw all the bruises and hickeys from.... L-Levi." I choke out my assaulters name and place my unused chopsticks back into the bowl.

"She saw them and yelled at me as she wondered where they'd come from and thought I was lying when I told her that I didn't know. I ended up crying and that's when the others drug her from the room." I finish and begin to eat my dinner.

Gray drops his chopsticks and growls. "She made you cry, what kind of friend does that?" I sit there waiting to see what he'll do. "Did she find out what really happened?" He looks up at me, eyes flickering from red to dark blue. "Yes, Mira explained it to her and she apologized to me." I say and continue my food.

"Ok." He relaxes and finishes his food.

"Gray..."

"Hm?"

"I-I love you." I say and turn towards him, planting a smile on my face. "I love you too." He replies and plants a kiss on my forehead and pull me into a loving hug. "Now if you're ready, want to go to bed?" He asks and I nod.

Mira's POV:

"So Erza, Mira, I need you're help with something..." Master says and we turn to him.

"What is it Master?" Erza asks and noms on her cake.

"Well since we have mating season still going on I want to send the slayer and their mates away on a trip so they won't be as stressed. Of course it will be a little pricey we'll make due. Also I want some of you to go with them to make sure no one gets to out of hand. Erza I want you and Mira to find a good place for them to go and then find a small group of us who can go help you. Also, I want pictures, lots of pictures of all the couples!" We laugh and I pat him on the back saying, "Well done my apprentice this is what a good shipper would say."

Erza shakes her head and makes everyone leave so we can close the guild for the night.
