It's that time! Mating Season!

Chapter 1

Gray's POV:

I walk into the guild and am met with a fiery punch to the face.

"Hey Ice princess! Let's fight!" The flame brain yells and I smirk.

"Alright flames for brains lets do it!" I yell back, punching my fist into my palm.

"BOYS! I swear if you two fight right now I will lock you in a room together for all eternity!" A voice yells from behind. I turn, expecting Erza but I see Lucy instead. She has her hands on her hips and a scowl plastered on her face.

I see Natsu visibly shiver at her glare. "I mean it, I'm sick of you guys fighting all the time. It's annoying. Remember what Erza said, if she finds out that you two were fighting while she's away on that job she won't be happy, and we all know how Erza gets when she's unhappy!" Lucy finishes the whole guild is cowering away from her scary aura.

"S-sorry Luce, we'll stop!" Natsu exclaims.

She nods and walks to the bar where Levy sat with Gajeel.

I take a seat by Wendy and Charle and look around the guild. My gaze meets Natsu's and he scowls. I glare at him and the girls sweatdrop. I look away and turns back to the two I sat by before.

"So Gray, what do you plan to do while Erza's away on her job. I mean our team could still go on jobs together, just without Erza." Wendy asks quietly.

"Well I don't know really, I guess I plan to just relax in the guild for awhile maybe take one or two solo missions. I'm not to sure though. I may not get anything done." I laugh out and smile. "What about you two, I'm sure you've got something planned out?" I ask politely.

"Yeah, Chelia Blendy, the sky god slayer from Lamia Scale is coming here today and staying with us for a while so we can hang out!" She says excitedly. "Lyon is escorting her here because he thinks that she needs someone here to make sure she doesn't get into any trouble." Wendy laughs out and Charle giggles.

"If anything Sherria is here to make sure Lyon doesn't get into any trouble." I say and place my head in the palm of my hand.

The two of them laugh when we hear the doors burst open.

There stands Lyon and Chelia. They scan the hall and when their eyes land on Wendy, Chelia skips over and Lyon walks over awkwardly, probably at the sight of me.

Wendy jumps up. "Hi Chelia!" She exclaims and they hug each other tightly. "Hi Wendy, it's so nice to see you again!" Sherria yells out.

I smile at the two and Lyon sets next to me.

"Hello Gray, it's been awhile." He says and places a hand on the table.

"Not long enough." I mutter under my breath. "What was that?" He asks.

"I said, 'Yeah I know.'" I say to him and he nods. "So where is the rest of your team?" He asks.

"Erza's on a job, Lucy and Natsu are at the bar, Happy is on an exceeds mission with Pantherlily." I say to him and sigh as I begin to feel quite awkward.

For the next half hour or so Lyon tries to make conversation, but after we finish talking it becomes awkward once again. "Natsu and Lucy would make a cute couple don't you think?" He asks out of nowhere. I choke on my drink and he chuckles. "Where the hell did that come from?!" I exclaim and he just shrugs.

Natsu's POV:

I was sitting next to Lucy, who was reading a book with Levy. Every once in a while they would squeal and then laugh. I tried to ask what was up but they just told me to be quiet. I turned and looked at the table Wendy, Charle and Gray sat at and as I thought about going over there to talk, Mira brought me some food to eat and I thanked her as I gave her some money.

She stood in front of me with a smirk and I raised an eyebrow. "What are ya smirking for?" I ask as I ate.

"Why are you blushing?" She asks and I choke. I take a drink of water and Lucy pats my back without even looking away from the book.

"What do ya mean? I'm not blushing." I say and she hands me a mirror that she just pulled out of nowhere.

I look at my reflection, to see that she was right. My face was a bright red and rivaled that of Erza's hair. I drop the mirror onto the bar and cross my arms.

"T-that's not a blush, I-I'm just hot, yeah it's really hot in here." I say fanning myself.

"Quit lying Natsu, you're a fire wizard, you won't ever get hot. [burn... ok I'll stop.]" She says placing the shiny plate, she was previously cleaning, down.

"W-whatever." I say and place my head onto the bar.

Mira laughs and takes away my finished plate of food.

For the rest of the day I just eat and make conversation with Mira since I had nothing better to do. In the late afternoon I picked a fight with the stripper and Lucy got pissed. She knocked our heads together and now she's making us take a job together. I begged her not to make me go and she just sighed. Right as I thought she was going to let me off the hook, she got up in my face.

"Listen here fire boy, you are going to do as I say or so help me I will give you a good kick in the ass!" She exclaims and I recoil back in fear. The ice cube laughs, which irritates her more.

"That goes for you two Ice freak! I'll kick your ass too, is that what you want?" She asks raising her voice even more.

"N-no I'm good!" He says, fear laced in his voice. Lucy uncrosses her arms and places her hands on her hips. Meaning, 'get-moving-or-get-an-ass-kicking.' I run to the request board and look through the jobs.

"Actually I have a great job you two can go on." Mira says and holds up a flyer. "This one you don't need magic for so you can't destroy anything." She smiles and hands us the flyer. I look it over and instantly say, "No!"

"Why not?" Gray asks and takes the flyer and reads it. "Nope! Not happening!"

"Too bad you're going, I don't care what it is!" Lucy yells and stamps it, glaring at us as if daring us to defy her.

"Noooo!" I yell as I am pulled from the guild by Gray, who probably doesn't want to die.
