It's that time! Mating Season!

Chapter 2

Natsu's POV:

As the ice block and I walked to the dreaded train station I re-read the job. We have to go back that Theatre for the Rabian guy. We have to be a part of his newest play. We would get payed 250,000 Jewel, but we had to stay there and perform for three days.

I groan and slump forward as we walk.

"Oh come on, it shouldn't be that bad right?" Gray asks.

"Oh this is definitely that bad!!!" I exclaim as one of the other actors fix the ruffles on my dress. Gray laughs and I shoot him a deadly glare. I cross my arms and look at the script. All I have to do is basically what Lucy did last time we performed here.

Hang from a rope and exclaim, "Help me... please save me!" Every like five lines.

"Oh thank you very much!" Rabian says and jumps into the room.

"You look great you two." He says and then walks away. I sweatdrop.

Gray got lucky he's the prince in this play. As I continued to read through the scenes, something caught my eye that made me choke on my spit. "What's up Flame brain?" Gray asks and I show him what we have to do.

"At the end of the play.... the prince and princess.... kiss!" I say and his jaw drops.

"Seriously, are there no women acting here?" He asks and the others shake their head no.

"The boss said that since he kind of expected a girl to take the job he was using this play. But you two showed up, and pinkie over here was the most feminine of the two of ya." One of them says and my jaw drops like Gray's before.

"Y-you've gotta be kidding, I'm not feminine." I say and turn away from everyone. "Natsu, you have Pink hair for gods sake, of course he picked you." Gray says and I cross my arms. "It's salmon."

"Yeah you keep telling yourself that, pinkie!" Gray laughs out and I pout. "Can you just stop." I say and walk from the room.

Gray's POV:

"Can you just stop?"

What? He didn't fight back? Dammit, I made him feel bad.

I walk from the room and walk in the direction he went. I saw a flash of pink and followed. When I turned the corner I saw Natsu set down on a bench in another room. I hear sniffling so I went in and sat next to the younger male.

He looked up and wiped his eyes, probably hoping I wouldn't see him cry.

"Hey, Natsu, I'm sorry that I made you cry, I didn't know that would make you upset." I apologize and place my hand on his back. 

"It's fine, it's just that I'm not comfortable doing this, but I don't want to disappoint this guy, I mean we took the job, we have to finish it." He says and I nod.

"You're right, but if you don't think you want to do this you really don't have to." I say and he nods.

"Just give me a few minutes to myself and I think I'll be ok." He says and I nod, walking from the room.

Lucy's POV:

Levy walked over to me just as I was about to leave the guild for the night. "Lu-chan look at this!" She exclaims. I take the book she's holding and read the title. "Slayer Mating Season..." I say and gasp.

I sit at the nearest table and open to the first page. "This is a big book," Levy begins, "Use my wind reader glasses." She hands them to me and I take them. "Thanks." She nods and I place them over my eyes.

After I finish, I close the book and hand Levy her glasses back. "Wow, so Gray, Natsu, Gajeel, Laxus, Wendy, Sting, Rogue and Chelia Blendy are the ones contributing in this, and their mates of course?" I ask and she nods.

"Basically all of them will find their mate and one of the two will take on the dominant traits and the other the submissive. Dominants will be very protective of the submissive and will mark them. The submissive can't leave the doms side for long periods of time until the month of mating season is over, after being marked of course." Levy takes a breath as she look around the guild.

"The subs will also be very emotional and if threatened during this month then they won't really have the power to protect themselves because they'll be caught in their emotions. That's what the doms are for, to protect them, again after being marked. If they aren't marked then they won't take on these traits. But the doms will always be protective from the first day." Levy finishes and I nod.

So all of them are going to mate? Wow. I wonder who they'll all choose.

"So Lev, when is mating season?" I ask and she bites her lip. "Today." I sweatdrop.

"Mira pops up out of nowhere and asks what we were talking about. "Mating Season the two of us say in unison. Levy lets her read it with her glasses and she squeals when finished. "Ma ships will happen!" She exclaims and we sweatdrop. "We have to show the master." And that we do!

Gray's POV: Two days later, Performance night:-

I walked out onto the stage in the last scene and saw Natsu hanging from the rafters in his dress. I hide a smile behind my pretend look of distress. "Oh beautiful Princess Lilliana I am here to save you!" I exclaim.

"Oh thank you Prince Thomas, I have been trapped here for oh so long!" He says and he actually sounds like a girl. Then the demon appears and we fight, me obviously being victorious and I cut down Natsu, catching him in my arms. I set him on his feet and untie his arms.

Then the last part comes and we both blush a bright red. I lean in slowly and he closes his eyes tightly. We never practiced the kiss because we were trying to put it off as much as possible. After what felt like and eternity our lips collided and we shared a long kiss. The crowd cheered as we kissed and when Natsu pulled away he was hyperventilating.

I began getting worried so I dragged him off the stage and into a dressing room.

"Hey are you ok?" I ask, gripping his shoulders tightly. He winces slightly so I loosen my grip. "Natsu?"

"G-gray, that was my first kiss..." He says quietly. "That's all?" I ask and he nods. "There's no way it was." I say and he nods. "It was, and it was in front of a hundreds of strangers." He says even quieter than before.

"Don't worry, it'll be ok, lets get out of these clothes, collect our reward and go home." I say and he nods.
