Chapter 9: The Mission

~Gray~

I woke up and the train was still going. I looked over at Natsu who was um.........basically sleeping with Yuki. I snickered, but loud snores in my ear caught me off guard. I turned my head to see Erza sleeping and Lucy also sleeping. I looked out the window at the night sky.

"Next stop, Zanderston." The speaker announced. I sat up and tapped Ezra's shoulder. "Hey Erza, you need to get up. Our stop is next." Her eyes fluttered open and she sat up groggily. She shook Lucy. "Get up!" "Five......more........minutes." Lucy groaned. Happy and Hopper rubbed their eyes. "It's already nighttime?" Hopper said. Erza picked him up and started to smell him for no reason. She squeezed him.

"You smell like strawberry cake! I never want to give you away!" Hopper had an annoyed expression and rested his head on his paw. Yuki seemed to have woken up because she started yelling. "Dangit! Levy said not to let Erza smell Hopper!" She went to grab Hopper but Erza moved and she fell face first on the floor.

"Oops!" Yuki sat up with a frown. "Could I please have Hopper back?" She pleaded. Erza mumbled something before angrily handing Hopper back. I laughed. "I never knew he smelled like strawberry cake." I said. Yuki glared at me. "Probably because you've never held him." She mused with a smug smile. I did an eye roll. Erza sat there with a sad expression.

"I want a strawberry cake animal." She pouted. Then the train came to a stop. Yuki touched her neck. "Wait! Where's my-" Lucy handed her scarf to her. Yuki had a red face as she wrapped the scarf around her neck. We heard a groan and looked over to see Natsu sitting up. "Did the- Yes! The train stopped!"

He bolted off the train and started dancing around. We all walked off and Erza was just staring at Hopper while pulling her gigantic thing of luggage. "Oh Natsu, here." Lucy handed Natsu his scarf and he wrapped it around his neck. We walked for a while. Natsu, Yuki, and Lucy talked. While me and Erza walked next to eachother.

"Hey Gray." I looked ahead. "Yeah?" "Do you have feelings for Juvia?" I shrugged. I honestly didn't know. "I- I don't know." She put an arm around my shoulder. My eyes widened at her unexpected actions. "I know that you love her." She whispered. My cheeks got a little warm. I still didn't know.

~Natsu~

"Luce....." Lucy looked at me. "Yeah?" "Why did my scarf fall off exactly?" She smiled big and looked away. "Ha! That's a funny story. Do you want to hear it?" She said mischievously. "I don't think I want to hear it." Hopper said. "Aye!" Happy added. "Well, while you were sleeping, somehow Yuki fell asleep lying next to you and you had your arm around her waist and both of your guy's scarves fell off." Now Lucy, Happy, and Hopper were laughing.

Yuki was blushing like crazy. I rubbed the back of my head in embarrassment. "S- sorry about-" we were cut off by loud screams. "AHH! THE MONSTERS ARE ATTACKING US AGAIN!" A pedestrian screamed running the opposite direction. We ran in the direction people were running from, to find three huge monsters destroying the town.

"Yuki and Natsu pick one! Gray and Lucy pick one! I will take this one!" She shouted, requipping into her Heaven's Wheel armor. Lucy and Gray ran towards one on the far left and me and Yuki ran to the one on the far right. "Fire Dragon's Roar!" I let out a bellow and it hit the monster. I stared in shock. "It didn't even leave a scratch!" Yuki said in shock. "Natsu! Get back! This may hurt someone! Tell everyone to get back!"

I looked at her in confusion. "Guys! Get back!" "Are you crazy flame brain-" Gray stopped himself and everyone got back. We watched Yuki in awe. She stood in front of the roaring monsters. "God Of Pain!" She now looked like she had blades sticking out of her back for wings. She wore a gray kimono with blades hanging at the bottom. She had black hair and super sharp nails.

"Blades Of Hell!" Suddenly there was an explosion and sharp blades shot everywhere. "Get down!" I yelled. When the smoke cleared, the three monsters lied on the ground and Yuki stood there with determination written all over her face. "Yuki........." Erza whispered.

Yuki turned around with a smile as she changed back into her normal self. "She's powerful." Lucy gushed. "Aye!" Happy and Hopper added. It was still nighttime and we were walking to the mayor. He paid us our money and we split it up. I looked at Happy with a grin. "We have a ton of food money now bud." "Aye!" I looked at the sky and now it was full of stars. "I'm going to check out the shops. Anyone can come if they want." Lucy offered.

"We'll come." Gray, Happy, Erza, and Hopper said. "Yay!" Erza said and picked up an annoyed Hopper. "You can go if you want. I'm just going to walk around." I told Yuki. She shook her head and snuggled into her scarf. I smiled. "Meet us back at this spot in a few hours." Erza instructed and the group walked away.

Me and Yuki walked in the other direction. Yuki grabbed my hand and intertwined our fingers. My eyes widened at her sudden actions but I brushed it off. "I want to show you something." I said and pulled her to a tree. "Natsu-" I pulled her up the tree and we sat the top. She gasped at the night sky and I smiled. We both gazed at the stars. She leaned her head on my shoulder and we continued to hold hands.

"Thank you Natsu." I looked at her. "What do you mean?" An eyebrow furrowed. "Just thank you. You took me to Fairy Tail, bought me a scarf, and was the first person to be so nice to me." I smiled. We continued to look at the sky for what felt like hours. "Natsu, we gotta get back to the others!" She jumped up but started to fall out of the tree.

She let out a scream of horror. "Yuki!" I went to grab her hand but our fingers brushed. "Help!" She screamed. I jumped down and landed on the ground just in time to catch her bridal style. She was breathing super fast. "I'm....... Sorry." She said through heavy breaths. I shook my head. "No. It's my fault. I should have remembered t you could have fell." Then we realized what position we were in and I quickly sat her on the ground and both of our faces were red.

We walked back to where Erza said to meet us. "Did you guys kiss?" Happy joked. I gave him a glare. "No. We just looked at the sky." Yuki said. Erza nodded. "Riiiiight." They all said. Hopper hopped into Yuki's grip. We all walked to the train station. "Just nock me out already." I groaned.

We all got on the train and sat where we did when we rode to Zanderston. "So what did you guys do anyway?" Gray asked. Hopper hopped onto my lap and fell asleep. I pet his fur and looked out the window with a smile. I think that I'm in love with Natsu.
