Chapter 6...Chasing Rabbit Trails

(Danielle's P.O.V.)

The next morning I woke up with Sadie in between Dawson and I. When I checked my clock I realized we had an hour to get ready before we left for our first day at the magic kingdom. I lightly shoved Dawson to wake him up.

"Five more minutes Mom," Dawson whined. I was slightly offended. But I hurried and took my clothes to the bathroom to change into my outfit of the day.

When I came out Dawson was still asleep.

"Dawson, wake up we have to get the kids ready, we only have an hour and we still have to eat breakfast," I barked orders. Dawson's eye shot open as soon as he realized it was me. "Good morning sleepyhead!"

"Good morning. I need coffee," Dawson sighed. His voice was really deep in the mornings. It was a real turn on, but I couldn't think about that right now.

"Well as soon as you get the boys up, including your brother, then you can get coffee on your way to breakfast," I stated trying to wake Sadie up. "Sadie baby it's time to get up, we have to get dressed then I have to fix your hair."

She just wrapped her arms around me with groggy eyes. I knew she wasn't fully awake, the poor baby. I carried her over to her suitcase then asked her what she wanted to wear.

"Danielle where are the boys clothes?" Dawson asked me a little disturbed. He had a serious case of bed head.

Sadie was squirming in my arms as I tried to help her put on her pants, so she was making it difficult to think. "Dawson they should be somewhere in the closet with the other suitcases if they are not already out here," I sighed finally getting Sadie's jeans on her. Next came her princess shirt. Sometimes I believed she was a spoilt princess being the only girl and all.

"Mommy my hair is all messy!" Sadie cried. Okay she is defiantly a diva.

"Okay come here and let Mommy braid it for you," I sighed. This wasn't a horrible task, it was brushing out the tangles that took the longest. She was such a tender headed child, and having my curly hair didn't help her any.

"Owe! Mommy!" Sadie squealed.

"I'm sorry baby," I stated. I finished her long black braid, and then started to get Ross ready.

"Mommy, where my pink backpack?" Sadie asked watching me change Ross.

"I don't know, go ask your Daddy," I stated trying to finish up my project at hand.

"But he told me to ask you," she sighed. Of course he did.

I looked around the room and Damien was still in bed fast asleep. That was it I lost it.

"Damien Xavier Conn, get your ass out of that bed, and do something productive or I'll skin your hide," I yelled and he just pulled the cover over his head. And out of nowhere I pulled the covers off of him, and smacked his butt.

"Hey!!" Damien shouted. That woke him up. "What was that for?"

"I told you to get up and get ready and you ignored me. So I swatted you like I would Hudson, Shane, or Sadie," I stated laughing, realizing how stupid it sounded now.

"Well I'm awake, I think that was the first spanking I've ever received in my life," Damien stated shocked.

"Well that explains a lot," I laughed and finished helping Dawson with Shane's shoes and getting our park info.

Later at breakfast Damien joined us and he was all dressed. Look! He is a big boy after all. Today was going to be a good day I could already tell.
