Chapter 16...She's Back
(Dawson's P.O.V)
What was she doing here? She promised she wouldn't come around anymore. She even signed legal papers that she would leave me and Danielle alone. That could only mean one thing.
She wanted something. More like someone.
"Awe Dawson don't look so troubled, your face will get stuck like that," she stated laughing.
"What the hell do you want Victoria?" I asked aggravated.
"Someone's grumpy," she pouted sitting down in front of me.
"You still didn't answer my question," I commented. I really didn't have time for her petty little games, but I was interested in what she wanted.
"Okay, Dawson I'll cut to the chase. You have something I need," she confessed.
"And what would that be Victoria?" I coaxed.
"Hudson," she admitted.
That's what I was afraid of. She had signed all of her rights away to Hudson the day she tired to blackmail me with him, in hopes of breaking me and Danielle up three years ago. What would make her little blonde head think she would have any right to him now?
"Victoria, you signed your rights to Hudson over to Danielle and I three years ago. I'm sorry I can't help you," I stated. She just sighed, then put on her best fake red lipped smile.
"I had a feeling you would feel that way," she chided. "Dawson, I miss my baby. I've regretted my decision since the day it was made."
"I don't buy it," I taunted. "Victoria we all know you were not 'Mother' material. You wanted the easy way out, and you got it."
"Damn it Dawson, I want my child!" she shouted while jumping out of her chair.
"Why now? Why after three years. He doesn't even remember you," I sneered.
"Do you not have a heart?" She sobbed.
She wasn't fooling me in the slightest. I knew all of Victoria's tricks."I don't have a heart for a woman that cheated on me with my baby brother, tries to break up my marriage, and then basically sells her love child to me," I exclaimed. She had got me so flustered that I didn't even realize I was standing.
"Dawson, Baby your messing with the wrong girl. I'll take your ass to court, and I always get what I want," she mused.
"Is that a threat?" I asked staring her down intently.
"No that's a promise sweetheart," she answered getting up and then leaving.
Oh Boy! Shit was about to hit the fan!
(Danielle's P.O.V.)
After taking the kids to the park to play, we waited in the car rider line to pick up Hudson from school.
He was so excited when he got in the van. It must have had an awesome day.
"How was your first day of first grade?" I asked starting to drive home.
"Mommy, it was awesome! I made a new friend!" he hollered.
"You did?" I asked matching his excitement. "Well tell me about them."
"His name is Adam, and we have the same backpack. He likes Batman too," Hudson rambled.
"He sounds cool," I laughed.
"He is. Can he come home with us one day?" Hudson begged. "Maybe sleepover."
"We'll see baby, I can't make any promises. We'll have to ask Daddy, but if Adam's parents don't mind, I don't care," I stated.
He just fist pumped the air. I was so glad his day went well. I was worried our move would have negative effects.
When we got home Dawson was already home. Which surprised me. He never came home this early.
What was the matter?
"Daddy!" Sadie screamed running over to Dawson.
"Hey Princess," he stated kissing her on the cheek. "I missed you so much."
"I missed you too," she giggled.
I just watched his body language. He seemed tired, but stressed.
"Babe, what are you doing home so early?" I asked worried.
"We'll discuss it later," he sighed and my fears were confirmed. Something was up, and I had a feeling it wasn't anything good.
I started super and Dawson came in the kitchen to help me. Sometimes I wondered why I cooked, Dawson was a way better cook than me.
"Need any help?" he questioned.
"Sure," I replied. I felt like I was walking on eggshells. I wished he'd just tell me.
"Victoria came to my office today," he stated stirring the rice.
"Who?" I asked as if I didn't hear him right.
"Victoria, she wants-"
"I have an idea what she wants," I interrupted him. "You told her no right?"
"Of coarse I did, but she threatened to take us to court," he stated. This confused me.
"Do you think she'd actually have a case?" I asked worried.
"I don't think so, but there's only one way to make sure. I'll call Dad later tonight when the kids are in bed," Dawson sighed.
"I don't understand it. She must have alternative reasons," I mused.
"Well there's no need to worry about it now," Dawson stated kissing me. He really knew how to calm my nerves. "Mmm you taste like sugar."
"Oh you can thank Abby for that," I laughed. Dawson just looked at me confused. "I had one of her cupcakes today."
"Well I'll thank her next time I see her," Dawson laughed, and then he winked at me. I just giggled like a school girl. He was a mess.
