When Two Unlikely Worlds Meet, Seokjin x Normani

Chapter Nineteen

As predicted, traffic headed to the company was indeed slow going, they had left the house at eight in the morning and should have arrived in thirty minutes but were still on the road at eight-forty-five. By the time they arrive at the company, they have five minutes to get to the interview practice. They break into a small run once they get to the front of the building, quickly signing in Normani at the front desk to receive her visitors pass, she was now not considered a part of the team with the performance completed. They get to the practice room just as it turns to nine in the morning. Everyone turns to look at the who had just arrived in the room. Seeing the curious glances at them, Jin realizes the same thing he had noted before at the house, they had on a couple look. BTS's manager is the first to walk up and ask what was with the matching outfits. Jin replied it had just turned out that way, it was not something planned. Normani blushes when the looks and questions are directed her way, responding by deflecting back to Jin. Their disjointed replies were setting off alarms throughout the room.

BTS's manager and a couple of older producers, asked to see Jin outside. In the mean-time the interview coach started the session. At the manager's office, Jin is asked to take a seat as the manager and the producers take their seats as well. They ask Jin to be as honest as he could be about what was going on between him and Normani. Jin hesitated at first, but then decided it was better to let them know before they found out through the media or a random fan cam video. He explained that he had first seen Normani at the Billboards award show and then met her during their vacation in LA. They started dating from that time and Normani was now staying with his family until she returned to the United States. "So, this is a serious relationship and not just you casually hanging out." One of the producers remarked. He goes on to say that would explain the chemistry they had displayed during the performance, people had almost felt the static in the air and the tangible tension between them. BTS's manager was more reserved in his response explaining given how their society was, it could either destroy the group and company or engage enough international fan support to absorb the impact on the group and the company. He was not sure if they were ready to find out either way. He tells Jin to head back to practice for the interview while he had a discussion with BTS higher ups and Normani's management.

Nervous since Jin was called to the office, Normani sat listening halfheartedly to the interview coach. She wondered how Jin was faring and how the things they were discussing would impact both their careers. Suga was seated next to her and sent her occasional encouraging smiles. She was so tense, she almost jumped up and screamed when the door opened to reveal Jin. He entered the room, apologizing to the coach before taking the seat on the other side of Normani. The lessons continued for two hours before they finally got a break. Normani turned to ask Jin what had happened during the meeting. He told her not much had transpired but that now both companies would become aware of their relationship. The information made Normani relieved and then scared of how it would work out for them. Thoughts of negative responses from everyone including the fans that could destroy both of their careers. Normani's only thought at that minute was to pray. They were given a forty- five-minute break and asked to eat their lunch so that they could review their practice questions for the remaining time to be freshly prepared for the interviews.

At the BTS cafeteria, Normani sat silently praying that everything would work out for them. Jin seemed more relaxed after the meeting, he heated the food for everyone and as they sat down jokingly added, "lets enjoy the meal, one never knows when you will get the opportunity to eat with your brothers again." The hidden meaning behind the words get to Normani and tears start to stream down her eyes. She hurriedly excuses herself to try and get to the lady's room before she embarrasses herself in front of all the members of BTS. Jin rushes to catch her at the door and walks out the room, her hand in his. He finds an open office with no one inside to pull Normani into. As soon as the door is closed he pulls her into his embrace as the tears continue running down her face. Normani complains, "I must look a terrible mess now." Jin tells her, "never terrible nae sarang only good to me." Laughing through her tears Normani says, "oppa, I just want to tell you that you tell terrible jokes." They both laugh at her response. Once her tears have subsided, Jin and Normani sit to discuss their next steps. They plan that if things don't work out for one of them, the other would spend more time in the country of the one who does have it work out. If they both did not have things work out, then they would immediately get married and move to stay with Jin's family as Jin began training at this father's company while having a dozen children to keep them busy. They both laugh at how ridiculous their plan sounded, but agree it would be better to stay out of the lime light for some time.
