Chapter Nineteen ; How Long

After a three hour drive, we made it to Cardiff. Once my head hit the pillow, I went unconscious, so I'm not sure what time we made it here. All I know is that Awsten started feeling more comfortable around me that he stopped wearing a shirt to bed and only wears pyjama bottoms. Personally, I think that if he doesn't want people to think we're dating to put back on a shirt, but that's his place.

"Aws," I whispered, trying to get him to wake up. Since I'm always waking first, I'll have to talk to him about where I sleep. "Aws," I repeated.

His eyes fluttered open, instantly happy gazing at me. With the curtains closed, he felt fine to kiss me. This is how I'd like to wake up every day.

Rolling out, Awsten and I grabbed our clothes from the inside of our luggage and changed into it. Considering that we parked while we were sleeping, we're able to walk around, which is something I'm always up for.

Closing the door behind us, we both felt like we were being watched. Even if no one followed us out and the rest of the guys were still sleeping, I'm always left being paranoid.

"Can we please tell them?" I muttered, fidgeting with my fingers. Nothing in this world would be better than telling all our friends about us. About the feelings that we are mutual on. How I gained emotions to reciprocate the ones Awsten's had since we met.

I knew he was hesitant to tell them. The consequences of telling them will be the embarrassing stories of Awsten, and making fun of us for being too "couple-y" or at least that's what I think will happen. It's probably worse in Awsten's head.

"How badly do you want to tell?" He asked, clearly indecisive. There was a way to make our relationship a more healthy one, and it was to tell people. Tell people that we found that we love each other and that's not planning on changing anytime soon.

Shaking my head like I wasn't sure, I tried my best to respond, "I want to tell the world that I love you." My heart was racing out of my chest, wanting to burst with love for this boy.

"When we get back," he insisted.

At first, I was in too much of a state of shock to comprehend. Maybe he wants to show off as much as I do.

Wherever we walked, all I could think about was us. How when we tell the others about us, then we can kiss and do all those other things in front of them. Of course, not all the time, don't want to gross them out.

Stopping at a Starbucks, Awsten ordered us both the same drink, handing mine over to me to find a seat while he grabs straws. I took the booth seat next to the window, wanting to people-watch who walks by.

It didn't take Awsten long to grab two straws while holding his drink. He sat on the opposite side of me, saying that he wanted to look at me instead of having to look at the side of my face.

No one was here this early, which made me happy. I liked when places like these only have a few people inside. It makes it feel homier.

While sipping on my drink, I saw Awsten lift his phone's camera to face me. While I was too late to at least pose, I asked if I could see it. Honestly, I loved it, and not just because Awsten took it. Asking him to send it to me, he smiled.

"Can I kiss you?" He asked, staring unsure at his cup. As if we didn't make out last night, this guy can be innocent.

"Get over here," I said as I leaned across the table, propping my elbows up. Agreeing, Awsten did the same thing as he pecked me on the lips.

If there was a definition for bad timing, this was it. "Isn't this fun!" A voice exclaimed. Awsten and I both knew who it was, as we jumped back quickly. Otto, Geoff, Jawn, and Lucas all stood there in shock, that was, except for Jawn.

We spoke about telling the guys about this, so this must be the time, but I'll let Awsten do it. "Oh, hey!" He exclaimed as if they didn't just witness what happened. "What are you doing here?"

"Cool, well we knew about this if you didn't know," Geoff said, ignoring Awsten's question. Looks like Jawn didn't tell anyone, everyone just knew. This whole time we could've outed ourselves, yet didn't because of fear.

Blood rushed to our heads, embarrassed that they saw us like that. Gripping our drinks in our hand, we stood up and walked out with the rest of the group. They must have seen us through the window and wanted to say hi, though came out knowing Awsten and I are dating.

"How long?" Jawn asked as if he didn't already know.

Awsten was too distracted by his Starbucks drink that he didn't pay attention to anything going on around him. That left me to respond to Jawn. "A few days." Although it did feel like longer than a couple of days.

It wasn't awkward between everyone, they all knew this was going to happen eventually. The tension between Aws and I was always present, we all just knew. So now that we know that they know, we can be public. Public as in only friends knows, still not sure about Awsten's stance on everyone knowing.

"Does this mean I can post you everywhere now?" It's almost like he read my mind. I'm not sensitive to hate comments, so I don't mind if he posts us on his accounts. When the hate floods onto my account, I won't care then either.

"Go ahead," I smiled, loving how we can be unrestricted.

With that, he whipped his phone out of his pocket. His Photos app held multiple pictures of me, ones I didn't know he took. A picture of me sleeping in my bunk. A picture of me the night of that party, downing a cup of alcohol. A picture of me the day we met, my back against a tree. When did he take these?

"Which do you want me to post?" Scrolling through his countless photos of me. It was amazing how he didn't realize how incredible this was, me seeing every secret picture he took of me.

There was one the one of me that was taken by Jawn, the first day of the tour. I was stood close to the bus, appreciating the midnight sky. Awsten must have gotten Jawn to transfer the picture to his phone.

Choosing that one, I gave him a wholehearted smile as well as my whole heart. I peaked at his phone while he opened Instagram and begin to post it. His fingertips moved carefully over the keyboard, making up a caption along the way. At the end of writing the caption, he tagged me in the picture and posted it.
