"Come on! Nothing good in this newspaper. As always. I can't believe your dad even pays to read to this junk!" I spat, throwing a copy of The Daily Prophet at Crabbe, hitting him squarely in the face. He grunted. "Ugh, this train ride is so boring." I groaned, looking out the window at the passing meadows. "They should at least provide us with some entertainment, or something."

"Well, they do have snacks." Goyle said hopefully.

"No, it'll be your fifth time going to get something. Your family is obviously gonna get bankrupt just by paying for your never-ending hunger." I sneered. Geez, I'm so bored. Something, anything happen!

"Hi. Have any of you seen a greenish-brown toad? A friend of mine lost his." said a feminine voice.

Finally! I thought, turning to look at the sound, and saw... a girl about my age with frizzy brown hair, like a squirrel's tail, light freckles, and beautiful, brown eyes. They were soft, and smooth, like chocolate syrup, and they were looking. Straight. At. Me.

   "Well?" Chocolate eyes said.

"None of your business, Mudblood!" I snapped, flustered. And then I realized what I said, and my stomach have an involuntary lurch. I had just insulted what seemed like one of the prettiest, most perfect girls in the entire universe, spat a foul name at the one girl who I had fallen in love with on the spot. But I can't show it. Malfoys do not get flustered. That is a big no-no. I snuck a look at chocolate eyes. She seemed hurt, but not as hurt as she would be if she knew what it meant. I wanted to close her in my arms, tell her that I didn't mean it and that I would love her forever, but that is an even bigger no-no on the Malfoy name. So I just did what any of my ancestors would do. I smirked. An empty, meanless smirk, but nevertheless a smirk. Chocolate eyes furrowed her eyebrows and frowned. And I almost died right there on the spot. I didn't want to see her so, so, like that because of me.

"Well, if none of you know know the toad's whereabouts, then I have no reason to stay here any longer." she sniffed, whirling around, her frizzy, perfect hair whipping around her shoulders and slamming the door. As soon as I heard that sound, I knew we could never be together, not even friends.

I slumped down in my seat, taking a bite of licorice wand Mother had packed me. But it tasted like stone, not the sweet chewy-ness that I was used to. It was like one of my enemies switched licorice with a piece of old rope. And that was when reality smacked me across the face.

That's what my life is all about.

   Enemies.
