A/N: Sorry for mistakes, I felt like I had made y'all wait long enough so I tried to rush to get it all out. Hope you enjoy!
Owen:
The unmistakable sound rang out from one of the computer speakers. Everyone seemed to freeze at his voice. Suddenly Victor's laptop screen turned green with a timer counting down on the screen.
"Mr. Blackbourne aren't you the one who always says to not underestimate your enemy?"
Owen couldn't help but feel his heartbeat quicken and he tried to calm himself. He needed to handle this carefully.
"Is Kota okay?" Sang's shrill voice filled the tiny space, and everyone seemingly held their breath for an answer. But men like Volto never gave you a straight answer, making people go in circles desperately trying to dig up the truth.
"You should be worried about yourself Sang."
You're the dangerous one Volto, we will always protect her.
But now it wasn't that simple, Owen couldn't rely on the fact that would always protect her; he learned now that it only matters if they get there in time. He only prayed they would for Kota.
We weren't able to protect her.
Mr. Blackbourne squashed the thought down like a roach, no. He needed to get everything he possibly could get out of Volto. This was their opportunity.
"Why the timer?" His tone was coy, it was like strategic dance, trying to figure out the opposition's plan along with his own.
"Observant as ever Owen. It's simple, you know what I want."
And like hell you're getting it.
"If you haven't figured that out by now then I guess I overestimated you. But I'm tired of cleaning up your messes."
My messes? What does that mean?
"Two hours boys, that's all I'm giving you. Find us before it ends, you don't want to know what happens after that."
We can't afford to find out.
As soon as he finished the lights came back up, the timer counting down while Corey's computer started beeping with Kota's location on the screen.
Corey's hands began flying across the keyboard, " Abandoned warehouse in South Charleston, a little over an hour away."
We need to move. Now.
North stepped forward. "I'll get the guy's. Let's go."
---Time skip---
They had went into full academy mode. Gearing up every resource they could and making a plan. The plan, for the most part was pretty solid considering they knew this was a trap. But for Kota they would risk a lot, and they've walked in and out of plenty of traps before. This time they just had to out smart Volto and beat him at his own game.
"You have to take her." Axel stated plainly, no emotion in his voice at all. Sang was currently in Victor's car with Gabriel, North and Luke; another car held Silas and Nathan. While himself and Axel were in his own vehicle with Dr. Green at the wheel.
"The answer is no." Mr. Blackbourne had been going over every inch of buildings blueprints, trying to commit them to memory in the very little time they had left.
To them it wasn't negotiable. She doesn't enter the building, she stays far away with Axel and waits in the car. Sang didn't need to put in more danger, she wasn't trained for this. She didn't sign up for this life, and putting her in harm's way was not something they ever wanted to do again. Not when they knew close to nothing about the situation. Not when so much was at stake. Not when Owen knew she was the target.
