Sang~

The door slammed behind her as she became surrounded by darkness. She couldn't see anything.

"Hello?"

She called out weakly. She moved her arms out but felt metal walls on all four sides. She was boxed in.

"Volto?" She pushed on the walls desperately trying to feel for anything when suddenly her stomach lurched as the world began to move down.

Calm down it's an elevator. A fast and super creep dark elevator, but an elevator.

As fast as it moved down, it came to an abrupt stop with a loud ding. Light peaked in as the door slid open to reveal a room with white tiles covered in red.

Kota's blood.

Sang felt nauseated at the sight but something caught her nose.

High fructose corn syrup? And... paint?

"Hello Sang."

Volto's voice echoed through the room. Sang visibly flinched but tried to hold her head up high.

"Is Kota okay?" That all she really cared about. It was why she was here in the first place.

Volto steadily walked towards her. There game of cat and mouse was officially over and this time the cat won.

"Is he okay?" She tried to hold her ground and stayed still in one place. She knew backing up would only make her look weak. She needed to be brave. She needed to be strong.

I need to get through this

It wasn't like she hadn't been through worse.

"I think your nose can tell you the answer to your question. Unless that was damaged in the... incident as well?"

How does he know about it?

He stood only about a foot in front of her now and cocked his head to the side.

"Yes, I know very much about that Sang. It's the reason Mr. Griffin's dead right now."

Sang's head snapped up in surprise.

"I thought he was stable?"

No. He can't be dead, they would have told me. How would Volto know?

Volto only laughed at the girl in front of him.

Would it be that horrible if he was dead?

Sang knew the answer to her own question without even thinking much. She knew how she felt.

"I guess it won't matter much if I tell you. Yes, Mr. Griffin's dead. I unfortunately had to handle the mess your team left, but don't worry Sang he'll never bother you again."

Sangs stomach twisted. Volto almost sounded like he did it for her. He killed Mr. Griffin.

Then what's stopping him from killing me?

Her eyes traveled to the tile beneath her.

Or Kota?

"Why are you doing this?" She needed an answer. Volto had been chasing them or so long. She wanted to know why. Nothing he did ever made sense.

"I'm tired of watching them hurt you Sang." He walked closer to her but didn't move to touch her.

Sang stood her ground,

"They have never hurt me. You're crazy! They love me and would never want to-"

Volto's gloved hands covered her mouth and the back of her head. Sang stilled.

I don't know what he's capable of anymore.

Sang was scared to admit she was truly terrified. If he had killed someone, she didn't know what he would do to her.

"I don't have much time Sang." His electronically altered voice sounded different this time. He slowly pulled his hands away from covering her mouth.

"What do you mean?" She asked softly. An unfamiliar man in a white lab coat with a pocket watch walked in the room. The shock of another person there was enough to momentarily daze Sang as Volto grabbed her. She struggled to break free but she was still recovering from everything and was incredibly fatigued.

"I'm sorry Sang. Really, I am. I'm sorry I have to leave you but this is that last thing I can do for you. I hope you can forgive me for not being able to save you from those buffoons."

What? What does he mean he's sorry? Last thing?

The man in the coat came closer,

"This is the one?" His voice was surprisingly soothing. Volto nodded. "How many weeks?" The man digged in his pocket while holding his pocket watch.

"Let's say three weeks to be safe," Volto replied.

This doesn't make sense.

"It won't be exact. It's still in the testing stages."

What is he going to do?

"I know, if it's longer that's fine. I know the product always takes away at least two weeks."

Two weeks?

Sang struggled against Volto's arms, desperately trying to get out of his grip.

I need to get out of here. Now!

Volto's masked face came close to her ear,

"They're coming for me Sang. But I can save you before I go."

The man with the coat came closer with a needle in his hand.

No

She kicked.

No.

She screamed.

No!

She felt the needle go in but it wouldn't matter. She wouldn't remember it anyways.

A/N: Long time no see? Would love some thoughts.
