I wake with a start. It was just a silly dream, I think. Nothing more than a figment of my imagination.

My dad pops his head into my room. "Sapphire? Are you awake? Time to get ready for school."

I groan and sit up in bed. I look at my dad and say "Why do I have to go to school today?"

Looking at him, I realize we look nothing alike. He has a deep tan, dark blue eyes and messy black hair while i have silver eyes, pale skin and golden hair with a curl on the bottom.

My dad, David North, is an Olympic archer. In past years, he has won the U.S.A. three gold medal so we are kinda rich. Most of the money is in a bank for my collage fund and but occasionally we take out money for books (I read A LOT).

He wanted me to have a normal (which I don't mind) so we live in a small house in the suburbs of New York City. I go to school in the city but I don't spend much time there but I do enjoy trips to the library which is HUGE.

Anyway, my dad looked at me and smiled. "Today is your last day, remember? Soon you'll have all the time you want to read and draw. Maybe after you get out of school, we can go practice archery in the woods together."

I smiled. I loved doing archery with my dad. I don't want to brag but i am kinda good at it.

"Okay." I replied. I slid my glasses and started to get ready for school. He told me he had an outfit in mind for today and I got kinda nervous. My dad wasn't very what girls at my school would call "remotely fashionable".

After eating and brushing my teeth, I went into the living room to see the outfit my dad picked out for me. It was a Batman T-Shirt, black running shorts with neon yellow sides, and my worn out black and electric blue running sneakers. I smiled again. My dad really knew what I liked. Since my mom left, he made it his priority to know me.

I put on the outfit and grabbed my orange backpack to the doorway where my dad stands there waiting for me.

"You look lovely."he says.

I blush while he kissses my cheek

"I have a surprise for you."he says putting a golden arrow neaklace around me.

"Have a good day." he says "Love you."

"You too."I say as I climb onto the bus. I didn't know that would be the last thing I said to him that summer.
