I wake up after what seems like forever to see a figure emerge from the rubble.
Oh great, I think. I didn't pass out long enough to have this be over.
I roll over and see a bronze dagger in my hand. When did that get there? I look at Melissa, who seems fazed but ok. I look at the hole in the wall and see Mr.Creevy with his sword in hand battling a... Minotaur? It reared up and hit the back wall after Mr.Creevy slashed it.
The monster stood up and i got my first clear look at it. it was about 8 feet tall, including the horns, so they just brushed the ceiling. His body was bulging with muscles that were covered in a layer of brown fur. His head was worst of all. It was large and beefy covered in matted brown fur. He head black beady eyes and gross teeth.
His nostrils flared when his beady eyes focused me and charged. I dodged so the Minotaur slammed horns first into the wall. It might have been instinct but I ran to the wall where the Minotaur was trying to pry his horns from the wall and stabbed the dagger downward through his back. He let out one last deafening cry and disintegrated into yellow dust that smelled like sulfur.
I turned around and saw that the rest of the class was looking from the dagger in my hand to the monster dust. My limbs suddenly felt like lead. I had was so confused about what I just did. A Minotaur? In real life? Something had to be seriously wrong here.
"Come on!" I hear Melissa shout. "I can't keep the portal open much longer!"
"What porta-" I gasped. Right in front of Melissa was a portal about my hight. She was struggling to keep it open so I walked through and she followed.
We stood on top of a hill overlooking a large valley dotted with buildings, a lake, forests, a beach and many more things.
I was speechless.
"Welcome," Melissa said. "to Camp Olympus."
