Remembering Sunday - Chapter Sixteen - Dear Maria, Count Me In
I look at all of the prom dresses surrounding me. There looks as if there are a million, and it kind of makes my head hurt.
I'm not a girly person, at all. So prom dress shopping, or dress shopping in general kills me. I don't enjoy it, not at all. Since Lisa is taking me, I might as well make the most of it, and try to find one to get somebody with a good fashion sense's opinion. You know?
"I looked online at their store last night, and they have very elegant, and also simple dresses," Lisa says with a smile on her face as she looks through the racks of dresses, "Are you looking for anything specific?"
"Not really. Something simple, and nothing fancy."
She nods her head, and walks towards the back of the store, and grabs a hold of my wrist, pulling me with her. We head to the back where the rest of the dresses fade from super detailed to less detailed, and more plain. We stop at the wall in the back, and she spreads her arms with a smile on my face.
Lisa, and I look through racks, and racks of dresses for me. She pulls out a bunch of dresses, asking me if I liked it, and I turned every one down. I am never going to find a dress.
I sigh as I look through all the racks not finding any.
"Luuuuuunnnnnnaaaaa," Lisa stretches, a huge grin across her face.
"What, Lisa?"
"I think I found the perfect dress for you," she says pulling the dress out of the rack.
She shows me a light blue dress, tight at the top, and loose at the bottom. The top is covered with silver sequins, and is cut like a tight tank top.
"I'm going to try this one on, I'm quite fond of this," I say as I take the dress from her, and head to the dressing rooms.
"I'll be waiting right out here," Lisa says as I turn to go inside the room.
I quickly take off my cothing, and slide the dress on. I look at my reflection, and laugh at how it looks like there are a million rooms behind me.
"You okay in there?" Lisa calls
"Yup!"
My mind returns to the dress, and I smirk at how lovely it is, and how fond I am of it. It ends mid thigh, and fits me perfectly. I open the door, and let Lisa get a good look at the dress before I turn in a cirlce, laughing.
"This looks amazing on you, do you like it?" She asks, a hopeful smile across her face.
"I love it," I say as she claps, and jumps up and down.
"Great, now go take it off so you can help me find my dress!" She says, a jokingly.
"Fine, you sassy bitch," I laugh as I turn back into the dressing room to take my dress off.
** =^,^= **
After I ask the lady at the counter to hold the dress for me until we leave, I make my way over to Lisa to help her look for the dress she wants.
"So, I found three dresses online so I am just going to ask the lady at the counter if she can find them for me so I can try them on," she laughs, and we make our way back up to thr lady at the counter.
Lisa describes the three dresses to the lady, and as if she knows exactly what she means, we head to a rack, and she pulls the three out. Lisa thanks her, and we head back into the dressing rooms, again.
She tries on two of the dresses, and honestly neither of them reall suit her figure, or her at all. So we both have our fingers crossed that the last one suits her well. I sit there twiddling with my thumbs, waiting for her to come out.
"Luna! This is the one, I'm telling you," she calls as she swings the door open, and throws her arms out, and spins in a circle.
Her dress is a dark peach, and flows down to her feet. A thin strap keeps her dress up. The top shows a tasteful amount of cleavage, and has a very delicate, swirling design made of sequins.
It looks absolutly amazing on her, to be completely honest.
"Do you like it?"
"I love it! I think it looks fabulous on you!" I say as she squeals.
"Okay, then it's a keeper!"

"Wanna come inside? Meet my mom, stay for dinner or something?" I ask her, and a smile appears on her face.
"Yes puhlease!" She says as she parks her car in the driveway.
We get out of the car, and walk inside the house.
"Hey momma! I'm home, and I've brought a friend home for dinner," I say as I take in the scents of the food cooking in the kitchen.
"Who is this friend you'be brought home?" She says, coming out of the kitchen.
"Lisa," Lisa introduces herself, and shakes my mom's hand.
"I would be June," my mom smiles.
"Well, It's nice meeting you, June."
"You also, Lisa. Now, dinner. We are having baked chicken with pasta, and if you guy's are up to it, we can have ice cream for desert," my mom says as the three of us head into the kitchen.
"So, where were you two at?" mom asks
"We were at the mall getting dresses for prom!" Lisa says
"oh my god, can I see you two wearing your dresses?" My mom squeals.
'Sure," I say as I quickly run out to Lisa's car, grabbing both of our dresses.
I walk back inside, and hand Lisa her dress. We both show them to my mom, and she cries a little at how happy she is, and how beautiful our dresses are, and how I'm growing up.
It's just a crazy day.
Hanging out with Lisa, shopping for prom dresses, and kind of becoming closer to Lisa.
For once, I forgot about Jake.
& it was amazing.
