Remembering Sunday
The Last Flight
I swing my bag over my shoulder, and make my way next door to one of my best friend Alex's house. He had been my best friend since day one. Our parents had been friends since Isobel and Peter had move here with Alex, and his older brother from England. They had drifted apart over the course of the past three years due to my mom becoming a workaholic to keep our house, and to keep my dad happy with plenty of booze when he wanted it when he would come home.
I walk up to his door with my sleeves pulled over my hands, and my hood up as I breathe in the cold Baltimore air. He opens the door just before I could, and he gives me a smirk, and hits my shoulder.
"Hey best friend," He says as he pops an ear bud inside of his ear.
"Hi Alexie." I say giving him a hug.
He hugs me back, and we make our way out onto the road, and begin walking to school. He begins humming some tune that I am assuming he, and the rest of our friends have come up with in the last couple months. Alex is in a band with the rest of our friends, Rian, Jack, and Zach. They are currently working on their new EP called 'The Three Words To Remember When Dealing With The End.'
We have small talk, but not as much as we usually do because I can tell Alex is tired from staying up late at Rian's house doing music. We all live fairly close to each other because we only live in a tiny suburban area called Towson. They had just gotten signed to a record label close by, and they're going to be working really hard the next couple weeks.
We finally make our way into school with a couple eyes on us since we aren't the most loved kids in our high school. We make our way to the place where we always meet up with the other guys in the group. We always hang out in the auditorium because its never usually being used, and nobody ever bothers us there. I rub my hands together, and blow into them trying to warm them up.
"You cold?" Jack asks me as he sits next to me.
I nod my head as he takes my hands, and puts them inside of his warm hands. Before I know it my hands are warmed up, and I thank him. I'm always kind of quite in the morning just because I'm still waking up, and getting used to my surroundings. The guys know that too, and they accept it as it comes.
Before I know it Rian, and Zach come inside, and stand in front of me as they talk about how excited they are to get in, and record the EP. I smile as I listen to them talk about this because I know its something that they have all been wanting to do for the longest time now. I'm so happy that they are finally being able to live the dream that they have been wanting to live for the longest time now. They have started playing live shows at different little cafés and things for a while now by doing covers of songs, but now they have the opportunity to finally make their own song and perform them.
As long as I have known the four of them that's all they ever really wanted to do in their lives, but they had finally decided to form their own band, and I am so happy for them.
"Hey short stack, its time to head to homeroom," Rian says ruffling my hair.
"Do not touch the hair, Ri," I say hitting his arm playfully.
"Fiesty."
I shake my head, and make my way to my homeroom, and then to the rest of my classes which I am sure will be some pure hell. Mainly because I hate school, and I hate most of the people in it. The only reason why I ever really go to school is so I can get a diploma, and to take my broadcasting video, and photography classes.
I don't know what I am going to do when the boys get famous because I'll be all by myself because the chances of them being able to go with them is so slim because they'll be so busy they won't have time for me.
