Karamel: One More Time

Ten

I walked down the hallway and into the training room. Monel was punching the punching bag made for superhumans. He was definitely hungover.

"Are you going to talk to me?"

"No." He continued to punch the bag. "Just go make out with your new boyfriend or something."

"Oh my Rao, Monel listen."

"No, I listened last night, you told me to move on."

"You know I didn't mean it like that!"

"Then what did you mean? Leave you alone with him!"

"Nothing happened! We had pizza, watched a movie and fell asleep! We kissed but there was no sex! None! I couldn't bring myself to it."

"Don't worry about me. I won't get in the way."

"Monel! I'm saying it's not your fault!'

"I know that!" He walked over to me and pushed me up against the door. "Kara, I'm so-"

"No, I deserved it. Listen, I love you but I don't think that we need to be together right now."

"Yeah, you're right. So uh, nothing happened?"

"No. When you came over, we were about to but we decided not to after you left. We just ate and went to bed. That's all. He went home this morning."

"That makes me both angry and happy. Happy because he's gone but angry because you're only talking to me because he's gone."

"No, I told him that I was going to deal with you today. He told me that you are obviously in love with me still."

"Kara, I never stopped."

"Neither did I." He got closer to me. My back was touching the wall. He put his hands on the wall so he was leaning towards me. He leaned in a little closer. I couldn't kiss him right now because I knew I would want him back. Instead, I just gave him a hug. He was surprised at first. But he hugged me back.

"Slow." I said before I went over to the door and left the room. I already missed him. Monel and Peter, but I knew that Peter was with the love of his life. Monel was by himself. I felt lost.

"KARA! MONEL! Attack at National City Bank downtown!"

"ON IT!" Monel and I said at the same time. We both got there as quickly as possible. I took out the robbers while Monel got the civilians out. I felt bullets flying off of me. I got to the criminals and knocked them out. I felt really good right now. Peter had left, I could focus. Monel was here, and we had just saved over one hundred people's lives.

I snapped back into reality when I heard a gunshot will a follow up sound of Monel screaming.

"MONEL!" I ran to him after kicking the man into a street sign. "No no no no no no no." I started to cry on him. "Stay with me, stay with me. Monel pl-" I choked on my own words as I laid my head on him. I was full on crying now. I rocked us back and forth. "Monel-" I said as someone took him away. It was Alex. I knew what she would do. Operate on him but I couldn't watch.

I stayed in the middle of the beat up road and rocked back and forth holding my knees as the civilians watched. A little girl came over to me.

"Are you hurt?" She had a supergirl toy in hand.

"No, wanna help me up?" I smiled as I grabbed her hand. She used her strength to help me up. Of course I just stood up but she didn't know that.

"Thank you, Meagan." I looked at her toy. It said Meagan on the back. I flew to the D.E.O.

When I got there, they had Monel on the table. He was in and out of consciousness. 

"Kara, we can't remove that without destroying his lungs. He won't be able to breathe."

"How can I help?"

"You can't, I know someone who can." She nods to Winn who opens a breach. Out steps Barry and Caitlin.

"Barry quick! I need you to phase into Monel and extract the bullet from him."

"Quick I can do." He reached into his lungs and pulled the bullet out. I let out a breathe as Monel went back to breathing normal. "Thanks." I gave him a hug as they left.

"He's gonna be alright Kara. He's in a coma. But we don't know for how long. Probably less than a week. It'll be fine."

"Okay. I'm going to stay here."

"Okay, let me stitch him up. So what's up with you guys anyways?"

"I am a horrible person. I basically cheated on him. I don't know what happened. This is so not like me. I love him, more than anything. I see a future in him. But we are taking things slow. Not going to rush it like last time."

"Smart. A future?"

"Uh..."

"Kara! If he purposed, would you say yes?"

"He's not going to purpose."

"If you guys get serious..."

"I would say yes but-"

"NO! You can't get married before me!"

"I'm not. He won't purpose in the next five years. Bet."

"You're on!"

"But uh, all done. He should be good. I have no idea when he will wake up. Maybe in an hour, maybe next week. I have no idea. But we can hope for the best."

"Yeah." She leaves the room so I'm left with him. I grab his hand and then put my head on his chest. I could see that his heartbeat was normal. I missed him already. I am so stupid. Monel didn't deserve this. None of it. He's only lied to me once, at least the lies I care about.

"Monel, you have to wake up. I know you will but I want you, all of you. I want your comedy, your heart, your body, your mind, I want everything. You are the only man I love. The only man I've ever fallen in love with." I chuckled a little. "When you came here, I hated you but we put our differences aside and loved each other. Losing you was harder than losing Krypton, Peter, Cat, My mother. I LOVE YOU!" I kissed him and just laid there.

This wasn't a fairytail. My kiss wouldn't bring him back. I decided to just fly home and change into some pajamas. I just wanted to stay here with him.
