Chapter 35

The walked around the orphanage doing his chores. He then set by himself, he was drawling in the dirt as other children played. He heard them but couldn't see them for he was in an accident that made him blind he lost both of his parents that day, with no other kin he was put into an orphanage.

He wasn't sure what he was drawling but he knew he had nightmares every night, of monsters but also being in a moonlit night they were attacking him he tried to fight them off but always fell to the ground.

When he was drawling he heard the care taken walk up to him, she was with King Arthur and Queen Gwenhwyfar. Gwenhwyfar was showing a little bit but didn't mind both of them had heard how the boy became an orphan. When they meant him they both fell in love plus they understand what had happened. The caretaker took them away to a room to speak to them about the adaptation procedure, the caretaker did what she could to fill everything out. On the paper forms that she needed to do then she had King Arthur along with Queen Gwenhwyfar sign their names.

Afterward, they walked over to the boy again, they touched his shoulder gently so they won't startle him. Arthur kneeled in front of him. "May I ask what is your name?" Arthur said trying to understand him more. The boy looked up a little hearing that someone was talking to him. He smiled a little hearing someone wanted to talk to him, "Ashton." He kept smiling, "May I ask your name but also why are you talking to me when there are plenty of other kids who can see but also want a new home?" Ashton didn't mind having a person talking to him. Arthur simply smiled answering his questions. "My name is Arthur Pendragon, my wife along with myself would like to take you home with us if you're alright with that." Arthur had replied.

About an hour passed they packed Ashton's stuff up into the carriage, as Ashton got in the caretaker helped him into the carriage. Ashton sat down thinking about his past then felt the side of the carriage thinking about where he is going. Soon as they were moving Ashton asked the king and queen about his blindness, they simply answered that he would have a servant helping him around so they won't worry so much about the dangerous parts of the castle or in case something happened. The servant would sleep and live with Ashton to be his eyes in case something happened at night or day.

As the day past night came Ashton had fallen asleep, Arthur and Gwenhwyfar stayed up talking to each other in a whisper. Slowly Gwenhwyfar laid Ashton's head down on her lap so his head wasn't agest the carriage wall. She stroked his head while humming a song to him she noticed that Arthur was up still working thinking about who to make his servant be plus the room they would need to use. He looked up smiling at his wife then kept wondering about everything that was going on.

As they arrived at Camelot, Ashton was still asleep so Arthur carried him into a room that was near his and Gwenhwyfar. Arthur then put the blanket down laying him down he then kissed his new son's head. As he left he went with Gwenhwyfar to get dinner.

As they walked away Ashton started to have a nightmare. He jumped startled then cried "I'm sorry mother and father I couldn't help you." He held his head as he tried to keep calm he didn't call his new parents for if he did what would they say would they kick him out? Ashton held on to himself as he started thinking about that dream that he had, he simply slowly fall asleep again as he cried thinking about his real parents. What would they say if they knew that he was now the son of a great King with a Queen as a mother? He laid there with his eyes shut as he held on to the blanket that was up to his shoulder.

As Gwenhwyfar and Arthur sat in the Great Hall as they ate they talked to each other, about what was possible for Ashton to get what he needed as a new prince plus the ceremony to make him officially the prince of Camelot. There would have to be some modifications for Ashton because of his blindness. But there was still time before the people of Camelot officially knew about him, the planning would have to be done with Ashton, Gwenhwyfar, and Arthur.

The other concern was the new baby that was coming if the baby would have powers like its once-living aunt along with Merlin. That was the other thing on Arthurs's mind he had to think about much more than his kingdom. He sighed thinking about what his life was now that there was a child plus one on the way that was his own kin. The other concerns were about the kingdom, as Gwenhwyfar went to bed Arthur stayed up to try to sort his mind out or a little bit of his mind.

So Arthur began dreaming as he slept seeing a vision of a lady singing an old song from his childhood, but also she was in the robs of Camelot. As Arthur dreamed Gwenhwyfar was eating breakfast with her nonroyal baby growing in her. She kept the lie up not knowing that she was going to cause herself more danger then anyone knew. Something was coming for Camelot but it was only after one person sadly the person who could communicate with the creature was no longer alive.
