THE UNKNOWN FUTURE

CHAPTER 20

I turned on the bed and touched Roy’s side. He was not in bed. I opened my eyes and sat on the bed with a start. I sighed when I saw him dressing up. He came to the bed and kissed me softly on the lips.
“Morning baby?” he asked with a bright smile on his face.
“Morning too baby. You are all dressed up and ready for work. You didn’t wake me up.”
“You were sleeping so peacefully and I didn’t want to wake you up. Maybe you can stay home today and rest. You have my permission.”
“No way! Am going to work too. You expect me to deliver and I can’t do that if I stay at home. Let me take a quick shower and we can go.”
“I’m running late baby. I have an early meeting with some clients. I will ask the driver to drop you at work once you are done. Just take your time. I chose some clothes for you to wear and they are in my wardrobe”
“Okay ! All the best baby. I guess I will see you in the evening.”
“Evening? No way! I will see you at work. Come here.”
He pulled me to him and kissed me. He then opened the door and left. The room was filled with the intoxicating smell of his cologne. I took his towel and stepped into the shower. The lukewarm water dripped on my back giving me a soothing sensation. I took his body wash and took a quick shower. I wiped myself and got out of the shower.
I put on the white cotton dress that he had chosen for me. He had taste in everything. I looked at myself in the mirror one last time and smiled with satisfaction. I then took my handbag and went downstairs. Jane was not in the kitchen and I guessed she was still asleep as it was still early. It was rare for Roy to take breakfast and if he needed to he didn’t bother Jane. He always fixed himself some.
I opened her bedroom door softly and they were still sleeping peacefully. I didn’t want  to wake to wake them up. I closed the door behind me and went outside to look for the driver. He saw me and came running towards me.
“Good morning madam? I was told I should drop at work by the boss.” He said with respect.
“Call me Jackie. Am ready to go.”
We walked to the car and he opened the left back door for me. He took his place behind the wheel and we were at work within no time. I opened my door before he could and gave him a smile to make him feel at ease. I walked into the building and took the elevator to fourth floor. The two ladies from  the previous day  were at the reception and they just looked at me without blinking. I greeted them and walked past them to my office.
I tried concentrating  but all I thought of was our love making the previous day with Roy. I smelt of him as I had used his Cologne and body wash. I worked on the computer and tried so hard to concentrate. I already missed Roy and time was moving so slowly. All those hours that I had been working it was just ten o’clock. My phone beeped with a message. It was Roy.
“Hey baby! Are you at work or still at home?”
“Hey too! I'm already at work.” I hit the send key and waited for his reply. A message popped up on the screen and I smiled.
“ I miss you already.”
“ I miss you too. Now, let me work or my boss will be mad at me.”
I sent the message and waited in anticipation for his message.
“Come for some kisses in my office. Which boss are you talking about? I am your boss.”
I rolled my eyes at his text and grinned.
“ Am talking about the HR you silly. I will see you in the evening.”
Another message popped up on my screen.
“ I want to see you now. Can’t wait for the evening.”
“ And I told you that you won’t be seeing me during the day. Bye dear. I have to work.”
I sat back and waited for his message. No message popped up and I thought I had won. My phone rang. I looked at the screen and smiled. It was him.
“what sir? I need to work.”
“ And I need to see you baby. I’m waiting for you.”
“ I'm not coming to your office. See you later.”
“ we will see about that!” he chuckled on the phone and hanged up.
I sighed and continued working. The office phone rang and I picked the call immediately.
“ Hey Jackie? This is Julie. The CEO wants to see you. He has something to discuss with you. He says it's about work.”
“Okay Julie. I will be there in few minutes.”
She hanged up and I cursed. Roy was really unpredictable. He used Julie to make me go to his office. I wouldn’t refuse. Julie had said it was work related but I knew it was not. I went to his office on sixth floor. Julie buzzed me in. She smiled at me. She looked friendly. I wouldn’t mind being friends with her.
“Hey Julie? How is your morning?”
“Hey Jackie! It’s good. Just lots of work. And how are you?”
“I’m good. We need to catch up for coffee soon. Your boss wants to see me?”
“Yes dear. We should go somewhere and catch up soon. Just go inside. He is waiting for you.”
I opened the door slowly and got in locking it behind me. Roy saw me and grinned. He watched me intently as I walked towards him. He rose up to meet me. He held me tightly and kissed me on the forehead.
“you are so stubborn! You know that?” He asked nibbling my ear.
“ And you are so… for lack of a better word dictatorial.”
“ Dictatorial you say? That’s a new one. I told you I would see you during the day and here you are.”
“ You are so unbelievable. You know that?”
“ Yeah! I do. You are yet to see more. You smell so good.”
He sat down and pulled me to sit on his laps. We snuggled against each other. Roy always had an effect on me and I was already getting wet.
“ I'm here to discuss work with you. That’s what Julie said.”
“And we are working. Aren’t we?”
He ran his fingers on my face and I turned to look at him. I kissed him on the lips and he deepened the kiss his tongue coaxing mine. We stopped and gasped for air.
“We can’t be doing this everyday baby. I won’t be able to work at this rate. I need to look for another job.”
“No baby. Don’t look for another job. I just can’t resist you. I promise it won’t happen everyday. I'm trying hard.”
“ I know, I am trying hard too.”
We kissed passionately and made love on the couch. I freshened up and straightened my hair.
“ I will see you later baby.” He gave me a peck and I went back to my office. All I did was stare at my computer until evening. I couldn’t concentrate. I would have to work at home. I had to do my best with the work that I had been given no matter how hard it was.
