Christmas break started in less than a week.
Lance was slumped on him and Matt's couch with a bowl of popcorn watching TV.
I need to go Christmas shopping soon,  he thought. He wasn't going home to see his family for Christmas; plane tickets were going to be expensive, and money was definitely something he didn't have. But, he still wanted to get something for them to send in the mail.
Lance sighed and layed his head back on the back of the couch. He needed to get something for all his family members, and his friends. They were all coming to his and Matt's apartment on the day before Christmas break started. In four days.
I should probably get going,  he thought. with a groan, Lance got off the couch and grabbed his phone. he stretched his arms above his head and let out a loud yawn.
"Going somewhere?" Matt asked. He was sitting at the table on his laptop. "Yeah," Lance replied. "Going Christmas shopping," Matt scoffed. "Don't let me stop you. I know you like Christmas for some reason..." Lance rolled his eyes. his roommate had never liked Christmas; he preferred Halloween. "So, about that..." Lance leaned on the table and applied his signature puppy eyes. "Well, since I have to buy so many gifts... I'll need a lot of storage, which I don't have..." Matt sighed. "Fine. Just be careful." He tossed his car keys to the Cuban boy and returned his attention to the screen in front of him. Lance almost squealed in delight. "Thank you! I guess I'll get you something, too."

The cold breeze of air that welcomed Lance into the store building made him shiver. Even in December, Arizona never got very cold at all.
The section closest to the entrance was baking stuff, so that's where he would start. For hunk, Lance got a yellow oven mitt. For Pidge, he got a green laptop bag. She was always almost dropping her laptop trying to bring it place to place. For Shiro, he got a mug that said '#1 Dad' because he was the 'dad friend' of the group. For Matt, he got a Monsters and Mana Nintendo Switch game. Lance was pretty stuck on what to get for Keith. Honestly, he didn't know him that well. He just wandered around the store, looking for something to get him. Then, he found it.
A small red hippo keychain.
It was perfect! Lance let out a laugh and snatched it off the hook. Now, he just had to get gifts for his family.

After Christmas shopping, Lance got back to his dorm. He wanted to wrap the presents tonight, so he could get it over with and wouldn't have to worry about it later.
He hummed a classic Christmas carol as he pulled all the items out of the store bag. He wrapped all the gifts he had gotten for his friends or put them in bags, then moved on to the family gifts.
For his mama, Lance had gotten a new pair of gardening gloves. For his Abuela, he had gotten a Christmas dessert cookbook. For Veronice, he had gotten a galaxy-themed jewelry set of earrings, a necklace, and a bracelet. For Marco and Luis, he had gotten each of them an educational book; one on reptiles, and one on marine animals. Lance had gotten smaller gifts for the rest of his family.
He shoved the presents for his friends under his bed and loaded the rest back into the trunk of Matt's car to take them to the post office to mail them to his family.

AUTHORS NOTE
so yeah another really short chapter. sorry bout that. But since school and junk started, I haven't had time to really think about this a lot, and I have really bad writer's block. Not to mention I barely have time to actually write. I also have a ton of dance auditions at the moment, and fundraising, so please don't assassinate me. Anyway, I love y'all and I hope you enjoyed this chapter even though it's only like 2 words long.
Also, did y'all notice in the titles for the chapters I just put the numbers instead of the words (i.e. "16" instead of "sixteen")? So, yeah. Hope y'all are enjoying the story!
