~The way to a heart is romance~
You stir awake with a big stretch, however, there is a hand restraining you. You trail it to the owner that is Sabo. In a fit of panic, you pull away in attempts to recall the previous night. You both had a couple of drinks while bingeing. Everything after is a blank. You uncover the sheets and make sure you're dressed, to your relief. Nothing has happened.
A cool breeze sways the curtains, inviting the morning rays to shine upon your sleeping guest. The way the light compliments his peaceful frame as though he is Prince Charming awaiting true love's kiss. Simply gawking at the man tempts you to touch him. It's practically a hopeless romantic's dream to wake up next to a hot guy. Your eyes savor every detail from his pecks to his green eyes. You jolt, half-embarrassed to be caught ogling. Sabo smirks in amusement. "Good morning." His groggy voice makes you bashful. It's quite attractive to hear as the first thing.
"M-morning." You replied. "I wasn't gawking. I was moreso confused on why the heck you're in my bed."
Sabo scans the room with furrowed brows. "I'm not sure myself. I must have tried to tuck you in and collapsed."
Did he truly carry you all the way from the living room? You blush as he buttons his shirt. Even when inebriated, he's a gentleman. "What time is it?" You reach for your phone.
"I've been up for a while, so I'm assuming it's ten?" Sabo answered.
"What? Why didn't you tell me? I could have driven you home." You squawked.
"It's fine." He shrugged. "I entertained myself as you slept."
"You watched me sleep?" You reiterate as your face becomes flustered. All the noises you probably made and he heard them? "Creep."
He sheepishly rubs his nape, "You looked so cute. I couldn't help it. Did you know you moan in your sleep?" And there it is. The facade you put up for him is now gone. You hang your head dejected as he proceeds, "If I wanted to leave I could have called an Uber."
"Why didn't you?"
"I thought we could have breakfast as a pit stop." He suggested. Before you could reply, he makes an offer you cannot resist. "It's on me as compensation for your hospitality."
"Say less." Sabo chuckled as you snatch your keys and throw on a pair of shoes before setting out.
______________________________________You pull up to the curb. The Newgate's house appeared unrecognizable from last night's party. Trash littered from the lawn to the rooftops. Thatch, Marco and Luffy are the ones cleaning up the mess by the looks of it. You greet them with a wave and whistle, "it must have been a crazy party to end up in chaos."
"Usually it is. When it comes to formal not so much." Sabo commented. "Thank you for ride. I had fun. No rowdy music, no crowd, and best of all I got to spend it with you."
You stole the urge to smile but fail miserably falling into his trap. "I did too."
There is an awkward pause before Sabo hands you his phone. "I know right now things are a bit weird, but I mean it when I say I want to be your friend. If it's not too much to ask for your number that way you can talk to me whenever you need." You hold the device touched by his ability to ask for permission rather than expect your cooperation. You assumed the assertiveness is your type, but you're starting to realize the gentle approach is effective.
You juggle with the pros and cons of creating a connection with Sabo. Regardless of your better judgement, logically, he is easy going and understanding of your situation. He would be a great ally. You may have lost a fling, but gained a friend. You don't want to read into anything, but he has definitely earned your trust. Thus you elect to provide your contact information. "Under one condition, if you ever get bored or whatever reason-"
