~Katsuki's POV~

      "What just happened...?"

I stared blankly at him. "Fuck." I mumbled under my breath. "It was nothing." I turned around and began walking towards the exit. "What do you mean 'it was nothing'?" "Just forget about it." I said in an angrier tone. "I will not let this go until you tell me." I turned to face him again. I was ready to yell until I noticed his expression. It wasn't what I expected.
He wasn't confused or disgusted. He didn't think it was funny and wanted to laugh. Instead, it was much more complicated. But he almost seemed... delighted or relieved. He wasn't smiling like a creep, but his expression was so warm.
I immediately stopped myself. "You like him, don't you?" My face began to flush. I can't really deny it after he witnessed that. "Yes, and?" I said in a threatening voice. He walking closer to me and placed his hand on my shoulder. "I'm happy for you, man!" He said with a big grin on his face. I was taken aback by what he said. "To think you actually opened up your heart!" He put his arm around my shoulders in a friendly way and walked me out of the bathroom. We began to walk through the empty halls—making our way to the cafeteria. "So, what are you gonna tell that girl that confessed to you?" He asked. "Well it wasn't a girl that confessed to me, Deku did." I explained. "So he likes you too! Are you guys going out?!" He exclaimed at an unexpected volume. "Will you be quiet?! What if someone heard?!" I yelled whilst grabbing his shirt collar. "Sorry..." he mumbled. "No, we're not dating. I haven't gotten around to asking him yet..." I let go of him and continued walking. "Just do it already, it's not like he's going to say no."
It's not that I'm worried about Deku's answer... it's just that I want to ask him at the right moment. I've already done so many things wrong and pushed him too hard. So I want to ask him out the right way to make up for it. Jesus... What is wrong with me? When did I start thinking about such girly things?
We arrived to the cafeteria in time to catch a glimpse of a sight that made my blood boil. Todoroki was moving the hair from Deku's face. I began storming towards them to pick a fight with Todoroki—regardless of the context. Before I could get there, Deku removed Todoroki's hand from is hair and got up. He started walking, then bumped into me. "Oh! Kacchan! I was just about to come looking for you." He looked down at his feet.
"Is something wrong?" I asked. I put my finger on his chin and pulled his face up to look at me. He blushed and broke our eye contact. "Um... is my hair really that distracting?" I smiled at his stupid question and gave him a nuggie.
"Yeah, you can see that shit from mars."
He smiled at my joke. I couldn't help but smile back. We walked to the table and sat down. I made sure to sit between him and Todoroki this time. Lunch flew by and the bell rang to go back to class.
It's difficult to focus in class knowing that Deku is the one behind me... all I can wonder is what he's thinking about or what facial expression he's making. I wish I was sitting behind him so I could stare at the back of his head all day...
At the end of the day, I waited outside the classroom door for Deku. It really does feel like I'm turning into a school girl. We walked down the halls towards the exit together.
The soft breeze blew the fallen leaves across the ground. I noticed Deku shiver from the cold air. I slowly curled my fingers around his hand, as I looked in the opposite direction in embarrassment. He looked down at the ground without saying a word, but he looked like he was in deep thought.
"What's wrong?" I asked in a forcefully casual tone. "Well... I was just wondering, why do we do this kind of stuff? It's not like we're a couple or anything...we don't even like each other in that way." He mumbled. I stopped dead in my tracks. "What do you mean?" I asked. "I dunno... don't you think it's sorta strange?" He seemed like he genuinely meant it. Like if he had no idea what our relationship had developed into.
"Deku," I stood front of him and grabbed the straps of my book bag. "I really like you. And I don't mean in a platonic way." His face instantly turned a bright red. "You l-like me...?" I responded with a nod. "I don't know what to say..." I took a step closer to him. "Then just give me answer," he looked up at me with a surprised expression. "Do you accept my confession or not?" I asked in a stern tone. "...I-I sorry but I just really like being friends with you..."
And with those words... I had been rejected. Once again I just wanted to mindlessly run away until I was never seen again.
"Well, I'm sorry. But I can't just continue being your friend and completely ignore how I feel for
you. I just can't do it." I said it far angrier then I thought it would be. "Don't talk to me anymore." I couldn't help but pour my feelings into those five words. I turned around and began walking—making sure not to look back to see his expression.
