3 Days Later
--------------------
I sighed as I slumped down on my couch. Today was the day. I had to leave. To Michael's. I had packed the final box this morning. I sighed again. I had been up all night packing, and had not caught a wink of sleep. I yawned. Before I could stop myself, I fell asleep.
My eyes fluttered open. Where was I? Everything was dark, no light, none at all. Then, there was a noise. A faint, quiet noise. Sobbing. I felt my heart stop. Why was I here? Is this just a dream? A cry for help? Or a warning? 'Follow the sound.' I thought. "Well, here goes whatever dignity I have left in me." I muttered, standing up and taking a step forward. I can't see anything, so I have to be careful where I step. The sobs grew louder as I took more steps closer. I braced myself for what I could see. Would I see just darkness, or would I see something more? Then, I saw it. Ahead of me, there was a light. Small, but as I got closer, it grew. And it got brighter too. Soon, I had to shield my eyes to prevent going blind. Then, the light dimmed. I looked up, and gasped. A woman, sat on the floor, with coarse black hair, in a nightgown, crying. Her nightgown was splattered in blood, and she was leaning over what looked like to be a baby. A dead baby. I shivered. She had her head in her hands, sobbing like crazy. "Help me. . ." She sobbed, "HELP ME!!!"
I shot up on my couch, out of breath. I was trembling. What was that? Suddenly, I heard Carrie scream. "MISS!!" She shrieked. And it came from my old room. Where we first found her. I shot up the stairs, terror settling in. What was happening, to poor little Carrie?? I shot through the door to my room, and gasped. It was all dark, a fog, black. And Carrie sat right in the middle of it. She was trembling. "CARRIE!!" I yelled. "MISS!! Miss, please leave! It isn't safe!" "Leave Carrie! Come back when you know it's safe!" Carrie took a breath, obviously scared. "Please." I pleaded. Carrie nodded, and vanished in the air. "HELP ME!!!" The voice shrieked. I covered my ears. "WITH WHAT?!?!" I yelled, hoping for an answer. "HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!" The voice screamed now, and I screamed in agony. I felt weak, like I couldn't do anything. "Alexa? Are you in here?" I heard Mike yell downstairs. Great, he just HAS to show up when Shadow Lady is pissed. She screeched, and I heard Mike's footsteps pound up the stairs. "Alexa!!" He yelled. "Mike, stay back!" I yelled, taking steps back to my door, slowly. I finally made it, almost out. Shadow Lady screeched again. I winced, turned, and ran out into the hallway. And right into Michael. "Oof!" I said, falling to the floor. "Alexa! Are you OK? What is that?" "I'm fine, and we need to leave." "Why?" "The thing Carrie was talking about is in that room, and it's pissed. Unless you want to feel her wrath, I suggest we leave." Mike's eyes went wide, and he nodded. We took off for the door, the Shadow Lady shrieking her head off. We threw the door open adn tumbled outside, out of breath. The shrieks died down, but still loud and clear. I winced again. "So, that's what that thing sounds like." He shuddered. I laughed lightly. He smiled and wrapped his arms around me. "You wanna get some of your stuff you need right now, or just wanna stand here?" "Is there a way to choose both?" He laughed. "Let's go get your stuff for right now." "Okay."
