a/n: pretending dodgers won the world series

"The game is over! The Dodgers have won game 7! They are World Series champions!" Tears fell down my face as I hugged Kershaw's wife, Ellen. "They just won the fricken World Series!" Ellen yelled and we squealed.

I was so proud of Kiké. He's been through so much to get here and I've been through it all with him. Kiké and I have been together since high school. We're the typical high school sweethearts, Kiké pummeled me over in the hallway and the second we made eye contact, we were in love and there was no stopping it.

We always said it was love at first sight, but truthfully I had been crushing on him since junior high.

We were ushered onto the field by security. First, the guys partied in the clubhouse and then they came out to see us. Once I heard the laugh of my Kiké, I was sprinting towards him.

He met me halfway and I leaned into his arms, latching my legs around his torso. His tears soaked my shoulder and vice versa, but neither of us cared. I was so proud of him.

Kiké set me down and I waved Cody over, trying to get him to take our picture. For a second, Cody and Kiké made weird eye contact and Cody nodded at him. "Okay, smile!" Cody said and I wrapped my arm around Kiké's neck but he pulled it off.

I furrowed my eyebrows at him in confusion, what the hell is going on? Kiké reached into his back pocket and pulled out a small box. Once he started bending down, I figured out exactly what happened and tears were pouring down my face.

"Victoria, I just won the World Series but I'm nothing without you. You're my biggest trophy. The World Series trophy was amazing, but you're my biggest prize. I'm so in love with you, Victoria. Please, make me the happiest man alive and say yes." Kiké looked up at me with shining eyes, both with tears in our eyes and I nodded, speechless.

Kiké slipped the ring onto my finger and then pulled me in for our most passionate kiss of our entire relationship. My tears fell onto his shoulder, and his the same.

Cheers from the crowd erupted as our loving moment was showed on the jumbotron. "Congrats Kiké and Victoria!" displayed on the screen, which made me cry even more. I immediately took a picture of it. These pictures would remind me of one of the best days of my life.

More cheers erupted so I turned my head, seeing Clayton Kershaw hoisting the World Series trophy over his head. "This one's for you!" He yelled, giving me the chills. I was so proud of the guys.

The trophy was passed to Kiké and he insisted we took a picture with it. We took one of us smiling, us kissing, and one of my ring placed on one of the columns of the trophy.

Late that night, after Kike had fallen asleep, I was scrolling through my phone. I wouldn't be able to sleep riding the high of the championship and the engagement, but Kiké was exhausted from the game and just playing so many games at once. I couldn't blame him.

I was on Instagram when I saw a ton of notifications. I opened my phone to see Kiké posted the three pictures we took. The pictures turned out amazing, Cody was surprisingly a good photographer.

Tears glazed my eyes as I read the caption that read, "oh that trophy? you mean the one on my right? Mrs Hernandez coming soon 💍"

I cried happily and I guess my tears woke Kiké. "Honey, what's wrong?" He asked me worriedly. "I love you, Kiké. I can't wait to marry you." I told him, a huge grin forming on his face. "I love you so much, Victoria."

I cuddled into his chest and I smiled to myself thinking about marrying Kiké. Turns out love at first sight really does exist.
