"Happy Teacher Appreciation, honey!" Nancy Swanson came into my room with a smile. It was the start of Teacher Appreciation Week here at the high school I teach at. "Thank you Nancy, to you too." I smiled. "Did I tell you my son is coming? He's bringing us all food, so don't worry about going to get something." She said and I smiled. "That's really sweet of him." I said and she gleamed proudly. "Ya, he's a very sweet boy."
"You're single right?" She asked out of the blue. "Umm, yes." I told her and she smiled. "Not to be weird, but my son is single too. He's very handsome, kind, loving. He can never seem to find the right girl and I think you're perfect for him." She said and I shook my head. "Oh, I don't know. I'll certainly talk to him." I said and she cheered. "Yay! Okay honey, I'll see you at lunch!" She squealed and left my room.
Oh boy, should this be fun.

The first part of the day came and went, and now it was time for the lunch/blind date with Nancy's son. I don't even know this man's name, so I'm a little stressed out to say the least.
"Kellie!" I heard Nancy's cheery voice as I walked into the teacher's lounge. It smelled like pizza, so I assume that's what her son brought which made me so happy. "Kellie, honey, come meet my son!" She yelled and I walked to meet her. When I found her, I also found the most beautiful man I've ever seen. Wow. He's gorgeous.
"Kellie, I'd like you to meet my son, Dansby. Dans, this is Kellie." She said and I smiled, reaching out my shaking hand. "H-hi, I'm Kellie. I work with your mom." I said and he smiled, shaking my hand. "I'm Dansby, its really nice to meet you. My mom talks about you a lot. You're her favorite coworker." He said and I smiled. "All good things, I hope." I said and he smiled. "Of course. There's pizza of all kinds, help yourself, there's drinks in the fridge." He said and I smiled. "This is so sweet of you. You didn't have to do this for all of us." I told him and he shook his head. "No really, it's not a big deal. I love this woman to death, and teachers don't get enough recognition." He said and I nodded. "Damn straight."
I got myself a plate and filled it up, going to sit by another coworker when a hand grabbed my waist. "Come sit by me." Dansby's deep voice rang in my ear, making me shiver. "Okay," I mumbled, walking towards him. We sat at an empty table and talked about our lives for hours. I had no idea he was a professional baseball player. Nancy just so happened to leave that out.
He's amazing, but he doesn't know it. He's kind and handsome and funny and his deep southern voice makes my knees weak. I knew lunch was coming to an end, which made me sad because I wanted to stay here with Dansby forever.
"Thank you for all the food, really. And you're great company." I smiled and he blushed. "Well, you are too." He held his arms out for me and he pulled me into a hug, rubbing my back. When he hugged me, he made me feel safe. Like no one could hurt me when I was with him.
"Hey, I don't want to leave you and I can tell you don't want to leave me either, so what do you say I take you on a date tonight? I have the day off." He said in my ear and I smiled hugely. "I would love that."
I could hear Nancy in the background cheering and all I could do was laugh. She definitely wins best coworker.
