Quiet and troubled Park Hae-jin was once a popular and social student but after experiencing loss he closes himself off and suddenly meets angelic Kang Soo-min.
I decide to wear a T-shirt and a denim skirt while I'm out at the market place today, my notebook and pen along with some other materials are packed in my bag and I head out to meet Hae-jin. It's a lot of foot traffic and the weather is really nice today. When I arrive at our meeting spot, I check the time on my phone and my eyes begin to wonder around for him. I dial his number but he doesn't answer and then I try again.
"Where are you? Why are you late?" I begin to scold him.
"I'm not late I've been here for a while." He says standing in front of me with a smirk on his face.
"Well lets get started then." I try to sound unbothered, we slowly walk around the outdoors market and observe the ordinary shoppers and owners. A small old woman is carrying baskets up the hill and she seems to be struggling and I don't see anyone who is decent enough to even help her. "Ajumma! Here, let me carry it for you. Where are you going?" She kindly smiles and guides me to her little shop corner where she has more baskets piled up. "Is it okay right here?" She nods and I set it down.
"Thank you! You must be young since you're so strong, are you a college student?"
"Ah, no we're high school students. We're visiting the market for a project."
"Ah he's very good looking, is he your boyfriend?"
"No we're just working partners." I nervously laugh, "but ajumma, he's really a mean psycho." I whisper to her and Hae-jin's eyes become wide. She laughs and I pull my notebook and pen from my backpack and hand it to Hae-jin and he rolls his eyes.
"Do you mind if we ask you a few questions? It's for our project." He sweetly asks. After asking her some questions and gaining the material we need I grab my phone from pocket and open the camera.
"Is it alright if we take pictures too? We need them to show our teacher as proof." She happily agrees and smiles next to Hae-jin.
"Wait a second, ajumma you can't just pose with me like that, let's do something different okay? If we do it like this it will look better, this is what everyone is doing right now so we have to do it too to look cool, see." He guides her to linking their inner arms together and their outer forming a curve so they look like a heart and I giggle a little bit. "Okay now smile!"
"Alright 1..2..3!" I count them in as I take the cute photo. I preview it to make sure it came out clear and I laugh at Hae-jin's big genuine smile.
"Aren't you going to be in the picture too?" He asks and I awkwardly join them and turn on the front facing camera to take a group picture.
"I haven't taken a nice picture like this in a long time. Here, why don't you take some fruits home with you!" She says and hands us each a bag full of fruits. We bow as we thank her and move on to find someone else to ask more questions. After an hour we decide to wrap it up and leave the market.
"I'll text you the pictures when I get home, you can use those questions and responses to form the presentation until then. Im leaving." I say and he stops me. " what do you want?"
"Do you want to eat together?"
