The rest of last week was pretty calm and normal and Hae-jin didn't harass me but he kept up with the mean looks and attitude. Tonight I'm sleeping at Mi-young's house but first I have to get started on this project with Hae-jin, I have a feeling that I will have a hard time getting him to do anything and I'll end up doing most or all of it. I meet Haejin at a cafe close to my house so that way I can go home and quickly grab clothes and go to Mi-young's house. I sit inside waiting for about 45 minutes becoming annoyed and impatient. Just as I get up he slowly strolls in.
"You're late."
"So?"
"So? I've been waiting for over half an hour, this just isn't your time it's mine as well. From now on let's be respectful with each other's time. Sit." I plainly say and he crosses his arms. "Have you come up with any ideas?"
"Nope." I close my eyes trying to keep my composure.
"I'm not gonna do all the work on my own you know. You have to put in as much effort as I do. I came up with a few ideas and I was thinking-"
"I don't care let's just do it."
"You're I'm impossible. I'm leaving." I roll my eyes and walk out the cafe.
"Yah! Where are you going?" He yells catching up to me.
"I'm leaving, you wasted my time. Tomorrow I'm talking with Ms. to get a new partner, join another group or just do it myself since you're no help. In the meantime I'm going home."
"Ani, I need to get a good grade in this. My grade is on the line too you know. You can't just walk out on me."
"Unbelievable." I mumble under my breath. "See it doesn't feel so good huh? Fine. I'll continue to work with you but you have to put in as much work as I do, I'm leaving now." I barely turn around and he snatches my phone from my hands. "I'm not in the mood to play games with you. Give it back." He pulls back and goes through my phone, "I said give it to me."
"Pipe down." He hands me back my phone and I look at him confused. I ignore his odd behavior and walk home. Confusion is still shown on my face when I realize he hasn't went the other way.
"What are you doing?"
"Walking you home. It's late and dangerous for you to be walking alone when it's dark." He says plainly. We both walk in complete silence and don't make eye contact. The only sound that's present is the lose gravel underneath our shoes from the street.
"Well um this is where I live. Y-you didn't have to you know..." I try to find my words in this uncomfortable situation. "Thanks." Is all I say and I walk inside to pack to go to Mi-young's.
Mi-young and I both lay in her bed as we let the face masks sit on our faces and gossip. I told her about Hae-jin strange behavior. We spend about fifteen minutes taking cute and silly pictures together, I look back to view the photos and send them to Mi-young when I realize I have an unfamiliar contact in my phone. I ask if she recognizes the number but she shakes her head.
"Should I call?" I ask nervously and she excitedly shakes her head like a child. "What if it's spam? Scam? Psycho? Stalker? Killer?" She taps on the number and waits for the call to go through. "Ani ani ani, you speak I can't do it. I can't I'll just hang up."
"Hello?" The voice answers. "Yah! Control freak are you there?"
"Lee Hae-jin?" I look at Mi-young and she looks at me back with wide eyes like a child. "I told you it was a psycho." I whisper a little to loudly and he starts yelling.
"What? What did you say? Psycho? Yah, who are you calling a psycho you little-" I quickly hang up on him and we both laugh.
