Author's Note: Sadly this story is heading to its end... I had a few more ideas but I don't feel it's worth exploring them.
I hope you enjoyed this story as much as I did writing it!

Simón's POV

I arrive at the mansion earlier thanks to Nico to whom I asked to cover for me.
Luna invited me for dinner, the Mexican one she promised me before I left, but I also had other plans.
After being apart for 2 weeks and since we really need that "What are we?" talk, I figured it would be great to invite Ámbar for an afternoon date.

I ring the bell and as usual Luna is the one opening the door for me.
"Simón!" She exclaims hugging me. "Wait! It's early, right? Or did I lose track of time?" She checks her watch with a worried look on her face.
"No, no, Luna! I came earlier. Sorry for not letting you know..."

She crosses her arms with a mischievous smile. "You came to see Ámbar, right?"
I nod and she giggles.
"I never thought I would say this but the truth is you two look really cute together!"
I blush a little with her comment. "I hope she thinks the same way..."
"Wait! Wait! So you're not oficial yet?" I shake my head in response. "Oh my... Then what are you waiting? Go see her! She is upstairs, probably in her room."
"You are right! I actually came to ask her out before dinner. Thanks, Luna!"
"Good luck!" She exclaims as I start climbing the stairs.

When I am already upstairs, I head to her room, preparing mentally what I should say. That's when I hear sounds coming from a few meters away. I walk slowly and as quietly as I can, following the sound which I recognized as a disguised cry.

I finally get to the origin of the sound and I am facing a bedroom which door is slightly open. I take a sneak peek inside, discovering who it is.

Ámbar is sitting on the floor, hugging herself and crying quietly. I run to her and embrace her in my arms. She freezes for a second but then realizes it's me, her sobbing turning worse.
I caress her hair, soothing her in my arms. She mumbles my name a few times to which I reply "I am here, Ámbar."

She backs away and I take her face in my hands, wiping her tears with my tumbs. I kiss her on the forehead and she hides her face in my shoulder, seeming a bit calmer.
"I am sorry..." She whispers.
"No. Don't be sorry! Just tell me what is it..."
"Sharon..." She replies, her voice letting know how broken she is.

I look around and find one painting of Miss Sharon, similar to the one I once saw in the living room, only a bit smaller, understanding that this was probably her room.
"Is this her room?" I ask, trying to make her explain what's happening.
"Yes..." She whispers in reply. Her sobbing stopped but her voice is still husky.
I caress her back, trying to make her feel better, even if only for a bit.

It must be really hard for her, walking in here to the bedroom of the person who, despite the name she called, was her mother, the person who raised her, but who in the end left her.
Almost as if  reading my thoughts, Ámbar starts crying again while talking.

"She abandoned me, just like everyone else. She left me alone. I am alone. I have no one else. She doesn't want me. No one wants..."
"Hey! Hey! Don't you dare say that again!" I protest, angry and hurt with her words. I make her face me, holding her by her arms.

"I abandoned you once when you needed me the most and I am sorry, Ámbar. I regretted that every day and I still do. But I promised I would never do that again and I stick to my promises! I am here for you, always! And I want you more than you can imagine and more than I ever thought was possible. Do hear me?"
She nods, shaking a little.
"Now repeat after me: I am not alone. I have Simón Álvarez now and forever."
She smiles, her face finally showing signs that she believed me.
"I am not alone. I have Simón Álvarez now and forever."
"Exactly. And he is the best boyfriend in the world." I continue, feeling a bit anxious.
