I ran to work because obviously, I woke up late. When I opened the door of the café, I tried to sneak in the kitchen. But while I was busy trying to hide, and walked backwards quietly, I heard an "Eek!" From the back of me. I think I bumped into someone. I turned around, finding out that it was Riley. My co-mate in the café. I freezed just looking at the floor, and saw some coffee. I rolled my eyes up onto Riley to see that I've actually spilled the cup of coffee which she was holding when I bumped into her. "Oh my god. I'm so so so so sorry" I whispered to her. She was closing her eyes, because I suspected that the coffee went to her eyes. I took the nearest napkin I could find, and tried to wipe her clean. While I was wiping her uniform, and saying sorry for hundreds of times, I felt a tap on my back.

"Ahem.."

I turned around, to see our boss. "Um.. Hey, boss. How's it going?" I said to him while faking a laugh. He had one of his eyebrows pulled down. "Late again, Ms Anderson?" He asked calmly. "Uh.. Well.." I hesitated, "Yeah" I bet I looked like a complete fool. "Well, alright." He replied with a smile. "I think everyone had gotten used to you, being late." I blushed a little bit. "What are you still standing here for? Head on to the kitchen and get your music scores ready." I smiled, then went to the kitchen straight ahead.

I love my job. I really do. The only thing is, I can't sing or even just play my own songs in there. They provide music scores for me to play on the piano, because they said that it is more suitable. However, in our break time, Riley came up to me.

"Hey." "Hi. I'm really sorry about that coffee incident today" I apologised again. "It's no big deal. That's like, what? The millionth time you've said your sorry..?" She laughed. I grinned like a Cheshire cat, and said. "So, what did you want to tell me?" "Oh, well. I heard from boss that the café is having a huge party in the other branch" she explained, "and he's going to make you perform your own song!" I've seen the other branch of the café once, when I accompanied Riley to deliver some coffee beans there. They have a huge arse stage, and the café pretty much looked like a ballroom in my opinion. That's how big it was.

I blanked out for a while. "Zoe? Hello?" As I saw Riley waving her hands at my face, then I snapped. "Are you sure about what you heard?" I asked her doubtfully. "Of course!" She replied confidently, "And according from my past experience of our boss's parties, some workers from the media and artists had been guested." She shrieked with excitement, and me? Well, I just couldn't believe it. Not until, the boss took a small stool, stood on it, and announced, "May I get your attention please. The café is having a huge party in the other branch next month. Everyone is welcome to perform, or show their skills on stage." Everyone gasp with excitement. "But there will be one bit that will be my self claimed, 'the best performance of the night.'" He said with a smile while looking at me. "Ms Anderson. May you do the honours?" I suddenly felt light headed. "Uh.. Of cou-"

I woke up on my bed. As I opened my eyes, I saw Riley looking down at me. "Wha.. What happened?" My head hurting. "You fainted because of excitement" she replied while smiling at me. "Don't worry. We already listed your name in the 'going to be the best performance' sectio-" "Hey" I said cutting her off. "Please do me a favour.." She nodded as she listened to my request, "Tell everyone at work not to expect too much from me, okay?" I said, "I don't want to let anybody down" She looked down with disappointment at first, but she nodded eventually.

She walked out my room, and said, "You take care now. Okay?" I smiled at her and gave her a small nod. I heard the front door shut, so I supposed she went out already.
