I’m actually making it throughout the whole day. Nobody is really asking me a million questions. It’s more likely of the fact that I haven’t seen Kenny yet. However, my next class is Science, which we both share together.
I’m almost to class, when someone taps me on my back. I turn around, wondering who it could possibly be, and its Shawn Divilisee, one of the most popular boys in the seventh grade. He is cute compared to the boys I see on the daily basis, and I get nervous when he doesn’t say anything. Judging by my social standards, I’m trying to question in my mind why he is trying to talk to me. He speaks before I can open my mouth.
“Did you see the video?” He asks, very normally, as if he is asking me what class I have next.
I scrunch up my face. “What video?”
The bell rings and we are now the only people in the hallway. Curiosity gets the best of me when he pulls out his cell phone. As he clicks the video, I gasp. Someone videotaped me yelling at Kenny yesterday. I watched in horror as the camera captures everyone’s face that happened to be watching what was going on.
A majority of the crowd was just staring and being nosey. My friends who were in the corner were open mouthed, shocked. Kenny’s friends were just standing there, laughing their asses off.
As I watch, I noticed the person holding the camera wasn’t Shawn. The person had a high pitched voice, so I was assuming it was a girl.
The more I watched the video, the more I scared myself. I looked possessed by an evil version of me. I was never somebody to confront another, and I definitely avoid making a scene in front of people. The curiosity gotten the best out of me, and I had to ask.
“Who’s recording this?” I ask very quietly, wanting to know the truth, but scared to know the answer.
“Taije.” He states, not looking away from the video. “You know her?”
My eyes widen, but I don’t attempt to make it noticeable. “I know of her.”
“Oh.”
His simple worded answers aggravated me. But that feeling soon went away when the ending of the video came up. It was no longer the embarrassing yelling fest I was having, but now was a bad picture of me taking a test, with a paragraph under it saying;
“MANY DPMMS STUDENTS DON’T KNOW OF THIS UNKNOWN LOSER,BUT IT’S SAFE TO SAY THAT NOT ONLY IS THIS PATHETIC GIRL JUST ANOTHER LOSER, BUT SHE’S NOW A REJECTED DORK THAT CAN’T EVEN GET SOMEBODY AS DESPERATE AS KENNY. THAT’S REAAAALLLLLY SAD. STAYED TUNED TO @TAIJE_VIDEOS!”
I gasp and my eyes start to get watery. I can’t even believe my own eyes. Taije is one of the more known people in my grade, which means this video will have more than 33 views by the time I get home. This video is on YouTube and on the Facebook school page, which means anybody here can get access to the video. I can’t even begin to process any words to come out my mouth, so I just stand there staring at the now black screen of the phone. Shawn looks at me and puts his phone in his pocket as one of his friends walks up towards us.
“Divilisee!” He yells about twenty feet away. His face is a blur but I can tell that the guy approaching him is Rory; the student nominated the most popular seventh grader in the school, from his slinky, yet muscular body.
“Fisher!” Shawn yells the same amount of loudness, and proceeds to run down the hallway in front of him. Prior to that, they do what seems to be their signature greeting.
I try to blend with the lockers and walk into my classroom, aware that I’m about five minutes late, also praying that Rory doesn’t say anything about nor to me.
