jaemin special chapter
"this cafe is cute," kyla said, grinning at her girlfriend as they entered the small coffee shop after rehearsals had finished for the day.
"like you," xiyeon quipped.
kyla slapped the dark-haired girl's arm, flustered.
"i'm glad you made up with donghyuck," she said, smiling.
"same," xiyeon sighed, giving a grin. "i missed the asshole, to be honest. and only lee donghyuck would yell at me across the stage during middle of rehearsal, saying 'yah, xi! i'm sorry, okay?' and only i would forgive him," she laughed.
kyla giggled. "what do you want?" she asked as they sat down. that morning's rehearsal had worn them both out, aside from donghyuck's loud apology.
"i'm in the mood for ginger tea," said xiyeon, reaching for her wallet.
kyla placed her hands on xiyeon's. "i'll pay," she said quickly.
"b-but, babe-"
"you can pay next time," kyla told her, getting up to order at the counter.
xiyeon beamed as kyla ordered their drinks in flawless korean. it had been amazing to watch her grow in confidence as the rehearsals went on, even after the point where kyla had waited until a rehearsal ended to ask the older girl on a date. her girlfriend was absolutely amazing.
"oh, hey, renjun," she said, raising a hand as two familiar faces walked in.
renjun, surprised to hear someone call his name, looked up to see xiyeon.
"hey," he said, smiling.
"hi, xiyeon," jeno added, squeezing renjun's hand. the chinese boy looked up at him and grinned.
"they're adorable," xiyeon said as kyla came back with their drinks. "thank you, babe."
"welcome," kyla replied, sitting down beside her.
renjun and jeno sat at a nearby table and took off their hats and scarves.
"what can i get you, ren-ren?" jeno asked, shooting him an eye smile.
renjun giggled. "can i have you?" he teased.
jeno leaned across the table to ruffle renjun's hair. "you'll always have me, dummy," he laughed.
"hey, guys," jaemin said breathlessly, hurrying in out of the wind.
"i thought you guys were on a date," xiyeon commented as jaemin came over to renjun and jeno's table.
"these two?" jaemin snorted, sitting down right between his two friends. "as if."
renjun choked a little, and jeno threw him an apologetic look.
"vanilla latte, renjun?" jeno asked, getting to his feet. "i think i'll get a peppermint tea today."
the chinese boy went to get his wallet from the pocket of his coat, but jeno stopped him.
"don't worry, ren-ren," jeno told him.
"you're paying for him?" jaemin questioned, looking slightly confused.
"uh," renjun began, exchanging a glance with jeno, who was frozen where he stood.
"i'm treating everyone," jeno said after a second, grinning. "what do you want, jaemin?"
