guess who can't stop listening to 21 Chump Street hahaha you'll never guess
if you haven't listened to that musical look it up it's less than 15 minutes long you'll love it
"Kass, I swear to God, this better be good," you seethed through the phone.
You heard a laugh, almost evil, on the other line. "Bitch, look the fuck out the diddly darn window to your hecking backyard."
Shocked, not expecting such a hostile answer, you ran to the nearest window that gave a view of the pool outback, in which Kassidy was laying on a floaty looking miserably sunburnt.
You ran downstairs, threw open the door, then turned to face her. It seemed she read your confused expression. You ran toward her in excitement only to be cut off.
"I HAVE BEEN WAITING HERE FOR YOU TO ANSWER YOUR PHONE FOR FIVE HOURS." Her arms were hanging loosely into the water. "MY SKIN IS COMPLETELY SCORCHED, YOU BOILED MILK JUG."
You laughed at bit at her insult. "I'm sorry, I was out with Brendon and Zack. You could have put on sunscreen, you know."
"Shut," she yelled.
"Kass," you shook your head, "get out of that pool, and I'll run you a cold bath and give you a bunch of aloe. It will help."
"I don't think I can move."
"Then you'll get more sunburnt," another voice added. You turned to see that Brendon had also walked outside, and was approaching Kassidy with a soft towel. "It's been a long time, Kassidy."
She gasped as if she hadn't expected to see him in his own home. "Perfect hair dude, you came to my rescue!"
"Actually, no," Brendon threw the towel at Kassidy after she finally hoisted herself out of the pool, "it was [y/n] who 'saved you'. Oh, and I'd pat, not rub, with that towel. It'll hurt."
Kassidy began to rub her skin roughly with the towel, ignoring Brendon. "I can do what I want, perfect hair man."
But she soon realized her mistake and began to scream in pain.
You sighed and began to walk inside, urging her to follow you. "Kass, stop causing more damage to yourself."
Kassidy shrugged behind you, still screaming, and walked with you to the bathroom where you turned the faucet on the bathtub, making sure it wasn't too cold for her.
"So," you sat down on the edge of the bath, running your hand through the water as it filled up, "why did you come here, Kass? I'm excited that you're here, but why?"
She laid down on the floor, sulking and wincing. "Sorry, I can't hear you over the sound of how much pain I'm in."
You laughed and knew she would tell you later. At the moment, she had enough on her hands.
Leaving her with a ton of aloe, you made your way out to wait for her.
Brendon had checked in on you a few times to ask if there was anything he could do, but besides that and a little kiss on the cheek, he left you alone. You didn't think to check to see if Kassidy was finished with her bath. You'd know. You just would.
As if on cue, you heard the distant screeching of Kassidy as she ran around looking for your location.
Your laughing must have given away that you were in your room, and she threw open the door, still screeching.
"This aloe makes my skin feel like I'm a popsicle."
You shot her a questioning glance. "What is that even supposed to mean?"
"It means my skin feels like a popsicle, you roasted hairbrush."
Laughing, you pat next to you for her to sit down. "So. . . would you like to stay for the night?"
Kassidy plopped down. "I didn't think that far in advance."
"Seriously?" You exclaimed. "Did you bring anything with you?"
"Nope," she popped the 'P'.
"Then why are you here?" You asked. If she had come so suddenly that she hadn't brought a single thing, it must have been for something important.
"It's a long story, actually. . ."
