I woke up. I was regretting this. I had to go to school. I got up brushed my hair and teeth. Then I walked to my closet and grabbed a black shirt and some jeans and put them on then slipped on my combat boots and grabbed my hawks jacket. I had my bag by the door last night. I walked out and grabbed an orange and walked to the door. "Mom I'm walking to school!" I yelled and Charlie came running into the room."Let's go." He said. He hasn't really spoken to me. We walked to school and Charlie showed me around and my locker was next to his. "Spassway!" Some kid called and I saw Charlie tense up. "And who are you?" A kid asked. "Sammy lets go!" Larson yelled. "I'm a hawk now if you don't mind." I said and slammed my locker and walked into class with my teammates. "So your brother plays for district 5?" Banks asked "Yeah. I don't think he likes me. Yesterday I walked into the kitchen when our mom was telling him and he was like Your a hawk?" I said "I mean our teams the best in the league." McGill said. "Yeah." I said. The teacher walked in and looked at me. "Samantha Conway. Your being transferred into a different class." The teacher said "That can't be right." I said "I'm afraid so Sam." She said and I gathered my stuff and said goodbye to my friends and she showed me to my new class. "This is Samantha Conway." The teacher said as my old teacher left. "Introduce yourself." He said "Um I'm Sam. I've gone to this school forever and I play hockey." I said "Why do you and Conway have the same last name?" Some boy asked "He's my brother." I said and moved my bag away from my hawk logo and Charlie ducked down in his desk and his team I'm guessing gasped "Dude your sisters a hawk?" They all asked. I sat in the back of the class and waited till lunch. The lunch bell final rang and when I was getting up one of Charlie's teammates tripped me. "Charlie will never think of you as his sister." He said and walked off. "Watch your back. District 5." I said and picked my stuff up and walked to my locker. I opened it and felt to arms wrap around me. Larson. "Hey there." I said as I slammed locker. "Woah Sam chill." McGill said "Gonna scare your boyfriend here." He added "No it's this stupid class I'm in. It happens to be the one with all of the district 5 team. I was leaving my class and one of them tripped me and told me Charlie is never gonna consider me his sister." I said "Hey. Sammy your ok. The whole teams got your back." Banks said. "Thanks guys now I want food." I said. Larson locked his hand with mine as we walked to the cafeteria. "Let's sit here." McGill said pointing to a table across from my brothers. "Well. The game against district five should be easy." I said "Yeah." Larson agreed "Blake how come out of all the guys on the team she chose you?" McGill asked "Because I did now get over it." I said. McGill was always jealous of me and Blake. "Why don't you hawks just keep quite!" A boy yelled "Jessie!" Charlie said "No Charlie it's fine. You see here. Yes I'm a hawk. Yes I love it. Yes I'm Charlie's twin sister. Yes he doesn't care but all that matters is that people care and these guys. This one guy cares enough for me that if you don't care Charlie then it's your fault." I said and took Blake's hand. I saw Larson give Charlie a glare and his team turned back around.
~~~~~~Game against D-5 vs Hawks~~~~~~
I walked out onto the ice and went to my bench. I saw a guy in a nice suit come over to Coach Riley. "Sam!" Coach said and I stood up. Larson skated over to us once he heard my name. "Are you Samantha Conway?" The ref asked "Yeah." I said "And you are living with your mom and brother correct?" He asked again. "Yeah." I said "Coach Riley we have an issue. This girl is playing for the wrong team." The ref said "Um no I'm not. I've played for the Hawks my whole hockey career." I said "Where did you live when you played with the hawks?" The ref asked "With my father." I said. Larson tensed up. "Blake it's ok. This is all a misunderstanding," I said and he nodded his head and went to our friends and told them. "And you moved is that correct?" "Yes." "Then there is no mistake. You are supposed to be playing for District 5." Ref said and I looked over at Charlie. "Excuse me for one second." I said and hopped over the wall and went to Charlie. "What's the deal Charlie! You told your stupid coach about me and now they are taking me off the hawks team." I yelled "Shut your mouth cake eater." Jessie said "Shut it Jessie!" I snapped "I'm not playing for this team. I'm playing for the hawks. You got a problem with it Charlie then don't bother me with it." I said by now his team was behind him and mom was at the glass watching this all unfold. "Sam!" McGill yelled. I turned and skated to him. "They are taking me from your team." I said "They are doing what?!?" Larson asked "They are making me play for them." I said "Or I don't play hockey at all." I added "I don't want to go to that team." I said "Hey your a hawk. For ever. Nothings gonna change that." Banks, McGill and Larson said. "Thanks guys. They aren't going to let me play this game." I said "Watch us from the bench. Cheer us on. You'll be out here with us." Banks said. I skated back over "Sam go change into jeans but leave your jersey on. Your helping me coach." Riley said. I went to the locker room and put on my skinny jeans and took my pads off and put them in my bag. Then I walked back out in my normalish clothes and stood next to Riley. "Their team sucks. We should be able to beat them." I said and as I did Banks got a goal. "They are really making me switch teams?" I asked "I'm afraid so." He said "Lets focus on winning this and then we will handle Bombay." He said.We ended up winning the game. I was in the locker room as the guys piled in. "Great coaching Sam." Blake said and tried to hug me. "Blake your all sweaty." I squealed. Then all three of my friends came to hug me. "Guys." I said as they got closer. Finally I gave up and let them hug me. "Now I have to go home. I'll see you guys tomorrow." I said and cleaned out my locker and walked outside. "Sam." My fathers voice called. "You stay away from me." I said and kept walking "Samantha Charlotte Conway you listen to me." He said "You lost your daughter the day you hit me. So do us both a favor. Stay out of my life." I said and he grabbed onto my arm. "Sam!" McGill yelled. This made my father let go. "Stay away from her." The rest of the team said when they came outside and stood next to me. "Don't ever try to find me again." I said and walked with my team. They dropped me at my new house. "Bye guys. I'll see you around school. I'll make sure to come to the games. I'll be coaching next to Riley hopefully like I did today." I said and they all gave me hugs. Soon I had to face Charlie and reality. I opened my door and dropped my bags in the living room and found my mom and Charlie sitting on the couch. "Charlie told me what happened at the game." Mom said "I'm going to bed." I said and walked to my room. "Those hawks are bad Sam. They hate me and my team. You know the second you play for us they'll hate you too." Charlie said "No my team doesn't hate anyone. We are just good." I said "So that boyfriend of your hasn't been telling you everything has he?" Charlie asked "Leave Larson out of this." I said "Him and his buddies, they bully me and my team, my friends." Charlie said. "We can finish this conversation when I'm not tired and mad." I said and stormed off to my room. I got in and slammed my door. I had a picture of my hawks team and another of me and Larson then me, Larson, McGill and Banks. I changed and went to sleep.
