We walked into the airport. We had our bags, gear and everything together. I sat next to Charlie and Adam.
"Adam." I said "Hmm?" He asked "Do you ever think about the hawks?" I asked "Where's this question coming from Sam?" He asked "It's been two and a half years and this week Larson showed up at my house." I said "They could've stayed friends with us. He could've stayed with you but he didn't because he was ashamed of us. Going from Hawks to Ducks." Adam said "True." I said. I ended up falling asleep on the plane ride to LA.

I woke up and grabbed my backpack and walked out with the rest of the team. I hadn't talked to many people other than Adam, Charlie and Connie. "Hey Dwayne!" Charlie yelled "Hey Charlie." Dwayne said "Howdy ma'am." Dwayne said to me "Hi. Im Sam." I said. "Dwayne. Austin, Texas." He said "Minneapolis,Minnesota." I said "Dwayne this is my twin sister." Charlie said. "I'm gonna go with Connie. I'll see you later Charlie. Nice to meet you Dwayne. And by the way, I like the accent." I said and looked at both of them and walked away. I can not believe I was flirting. I haven't flirted with someone in years. "Connie. We need to talk. Like now." I said and pulled her outside. "I was flirting with Dwayne." I said "So your moving on from Larson now?" She asked "I moved on a while ago I just didn't think I'd find someone." I said and looked back inside. "He's cute. Your gorgeous. Charlie will kill me for saying this but you guys would be cute together." She said "I know Connie." I said and we walked back inside and grabbed our things and got on our bus. It took us to the dorms. I shared with Connie and Julie Gaffney. I picked the single bed. I put up my posters and books and such and then changed into shorts and a over sized shirt. "I'm gonna go find Charlie. I'll be back later." I said and walked out. "Hey Sam." Dwayne said "Hey Dwayne." I said "Where you off to on this fine evening?" He asked "Charlie's." I said "He's right down the hall from me." He said and pointed to a door a few doors down from him. "Thanks." I said and walked to the door. "Charlie open up!" I yelled beating on the door. Adam opened it "Where's Charlie?" I asked "Don't know." Adam said "Adam we need to talk." I said and pushed past him. "I'm telling you this because you've been my friend for like ever. I was flirting with Dwayne. I didn't think I could find someone after Larson." I said "It's good that you are moving on." He said "I'm just scared Adam. Like what if when he finds out my past he leaves." I said "Listen. No one is going to leave you. Not me, not Charlie, not this team. None of us are like your father. I remember the night you got taken from the hawks team. When we found you outside and he was holding onto your arm." Adam said and I looked down at my arm and ran my hand along the spot he grabbed. "We aren't going to hurt you." He said "Thanks Adam." I said. I got up and left. "Hey Sam." Coach said "This came in the mail for you." He said and handed me a letter. I walked into my room and opened it.
Sam,
I know you don't want to hear from me. Yes I know I broke your heart. You have to believe me, I never wanted this. The day I saw you walk away from me in the hall crying broke me. I never should've done what Coach Riley told me. I miss you. I've missed you from the day I left you. I don't deserve you. Your probably off with some new hockey guy. Just know I will always love you.
"Sam?" Connie asked I didn't realize I was crying. "I'm fine. I just need a minute." I said and walked outside. I sat on the steps of the dorm. I was crying my eyes out. I don know why. I didn't think about Larson anymore. "Sam?" Charlie said. "What?" I asked not turning around "Connie found me. She said you are upset." He said "It's from Larson." I said and handed it to him. "Why is he writing to you now?" He asked "He said he loves me." I said "Charlie. He broke up with me because I became a duck. He doesn't love me. He never did." I said and this time I turned around and saw Charlie wasn't alone. Dwayne was standing next to him. I wiped my face and looked at Charlie. "It's been almost three years Charlie. Three years since everything. I'm still scared." I said. Then I walked back to my dorm.

I was walking with Dwayne around the hallways and Connie came up to me. "Charlie. Somethings wrong with Sam. She got a letter and she started to cry then she walked out of the room. I think she went outside." She said. "Thanks Connie." I said. Me and Dwayne rushed outside. I looked out the door and saw my sister crying on the steps outside. "She's hurt." I said to myself. "Let's go." Dwayne said. We pushed the doors open quitely. "Sam?" I said. "What?" She asked not turning around "Connie found me. She said you are upset." I said "It's from Larson." She said and handed it to me. "Why is he writing to you now?" I asked "He said he loves me." She said "Charlie. He broke up with me because I became a duck. He doesn't love me. He never did." She said and this time she turned around. She wiped her face and looked at me. "It's been almost three years Charlie. Three years since everything. I'm still scared." She said. Then she walked back to to the dorm. "Who's Larson?" Dwayne asked "Her ex. It's a long story. She'll tell you when she trust you enough to let you in." I said "Your sister is somethin else Charlie. I like her." Dwayne said. "Don't hurt her." I said and with that we walked inside.

I woke up and changed into jeans and a black t-shirt. I pulled on my converse and brushed my hair and grabbed my backpack and walked out of my room. I went to the cafeteria to get some food. I saw most of the team sitting there and I sat next to Charlie and Dwayne. "Hey Sam. I wanna ask you something." Dwayne said "Shoot." I said "I was wonderin if you'd like to hang out sometime?" He asked I heard people "Awwing" and "Oooooo." And I looked at Dwayne "I'd love to." I said and with that the day carried on.
Today was our chill day so Charlie wanted to hang out with his friends and I wanted peace and quite. I walked back to my room and changed into shorts and a hoodie and pulled my hair into a braid. Then I grabbed a book and started to read.
2 hours later
I woke up and my face was buried in my pillows. I looked at the time. 10:45. Crap Charlie was probably worried about me. There was a knock at my door and I opened it.
There stood the man I never wanted to see again.
