I woke up in a room with bright lights. As soon as my eyes opened, I saw my parents rushing toward me. My mom bombarded me with questions. "Are you okay? How are you feeling? Does anything hurt?I'm going to get a nurse" My mom walked out of the room and my dad walked toward me. He bent down and kissed my forehead. "Thank God you're okay." "What happened?" I asked. I hardly remembered anything. "You tripped on one of Luca's toys when you were going up the stairs. You fell and your head hit the stair." "Am I going to be okay?" "Hopefully" He smiled a tired smile. I wondered how long I had been here. When I was about to ask him my mom and a girl, not much older than me, walked in. She came over to me and started writing down notes. After like 2 minutes, she finally spoke. "You seem fine. No signs of a concussion or anything. I'll go get the doctor, but you should be going home soon."She smiled and left. "How long have I been here?" I finally asked. "Just a few hours" My mom responded.
A man with black hair walked in. He was slim, but not scrawny. He looked like he was in his 40's. He was quite handsome I suppose. "So who do we have here?" He asked as the nurse handed him the clipboard she was writing notes on earlier. "Alexa Marisela Celico. Long name" He said as he smiled. "Well you seem fine. It was just a minor injury. As soon as your parents finish some paperwork, you'll be able to go" "Thank you" I said and I grinned. My parents followed him and I was left alone in the hospital room.
After about 5 minutes, I heard someone walk in. I opened my eyes and saw James standing there. "What are you doig here?" I tried to whisper, but it sort of came out as a yell. "Well, I heard you were here and I wanted to see how you were doing" "How did you find out I was here?" I asked curiously. "I have my ways" He said as he winked. Seeing him actually made me really happy. He was wearing sweatpants and a shirt. "Were you playing? I asked looking at his clothes. "Yeah I was at practice for my game when I found out you were here." "Wait, you're a player, like in the World Cup?" I asked shocked. "Yeah. I'm Colombian." "Well I'm sorry you missed your practice to come see me." "It was worth it, don't worry." He said as he smiled. "I better get going before I get in more trouble. I'm just glad you're ok." He said as he bent down to hug me. "Thanks, I really appreciate it." I said and I couldn't help blushing. He turned around to walk out, but turned around. "I was wondering if you wanted to go out sometime, I mean if you have time." He said and I could swear he blushed a little bit. "Yeah I would enjoy that" I grinned. "Here, give me your phone number so I could text you. He handed me his phone and I handed him mine. "Well I'll see you later" He said and walked out. I probably looked like a kid in a candy shop. My parents walked in and told me it was time to go.
While my mom went to get the car, me and my dad waited in the waiting room. "It's a guy isn't it?" My dad asked out of nowhere. "What are you talking about?" "That smile on your face. Alexa you're my daughter, I know you. Now I know you're 19 and you can date who ever you want, but it wouldn't hurt if you told me Lex." He said and his face looked genuinely hurt. I guess I understand why he would be hurt. In high school, I would tell my dad everything. He knew about the guys I liked and about everything I was going through. "I'm sorry dad. It was unexpected. Like really unexpected. I met him because of Bella. She bumped into him and, it just happened." "Well I don't wanna burst your bubble, but remember we're only here in Brazil for 2 months." As he said that, my mom called my dad to tell him that she was outside waiting for us. That really got me thinking. Would I see James after the World Cup?
