The Dark Lion

The final battle pt 2

Fuli nudged Kion but he didn't wake up, she tried again but still no response came from him. She knew what she had to do, she grabbed Kion by the scruff and began to drag him towards Rafiki's tree. She had to stop multiple times, because Kion was slightly bigger than her and weight a lot more than she did. She needed to rest again and layed down on the cold dirty ground, while she looked around. They weren't too far away from Rafiki's tree and soon Fuli found the strenght again to continue. She arose to all fours and grabbed Kion by the scruff again and dragged him. When they reached Rafiki's tree, Fuli let go of Kion and fell to the ground because of exhaustion. She wanted to close her eyes and just rest, but Kion's life was more important. She wanted to take him the last part into Rafiki's tree but her body had other plans. Her brain told her what to do but her body didn't want to cooperate with her, she wouldn't give up this easilly tho. She forced herself to stand up, placing a paw in front of the other and slowly and wobbly walked towards Rafiki's tree.

"Rafiki?'

She called out, waiting for an answer but she was answered with the silence around her and Kion. She was getting impatient, but contained her emotions. She tried again.

"Rafiki!?"

This time there was a response, she saw the figure of Rafiki and he aproached her slowly.

"Fuli? What are you-"

She see that Kion is laying dead still on the ground. He looks at the young lion with a worried look.

"He got pretty bad injured by Janja, I tried to save him but I was too late."

Her ears flattens the more she looks at Kion. She needed to look away from him because she couldn't bare to see him in this state.

Rafiki looked at Fuli to signal her to help him, she sighed and turned around to help him. She took him by the scruff one last time and dragged him into Rafiki's tree. She took of her mask and layed it beside her. She lays down beside Kion, Fuli looks at Kion with a worried look in her eyes and lays her head down beside his face and licks his cheek lovingly. Her heart feels empty, she feels like all this is her fault. Tears starts streaming down her face as she licks him, she stops licking him and snuggles against him while Rafiki is helping to stop the bleeding.

Meanwhile

The Joker finds shore again, he shakes of the water and the paint on his face is gone. He finds something to paint his face again and growls, it suddenly turns into a silent laugh.

"Oh soon you will be helping me Kion it's just a matter of time."

He smiles evilly. A lioness appears out of a bush and the Joker knows her too well. The lioness is light cream furred with clover green eyes and a birth mark under her left eye that resembles a flower.

"I thought that you never would show up, Zahra" He smiles deviously.

Zahra aproaches him with her tail flickering.

"Well I always keep my promises."

She says both sweetly and cold at the same time which sends shivers down the Joker's spine.

"You needed help with a lion cub?"

She asks while she circles him which makes him a little nervous.

"Y- Yeah I- I do." He replies a little scared.

"Hmm alright, I'll see what I can do."

She stops circling him and walks past him. Her tail brushes against his muzzle, which leaves a grimace on his face.

"Before you go."

Zahra turns around and looks at the Joker.

"Yes?"

"Are you sure you can-"

"I will have him twisted around my claw. When I'm finished with him, he won't even remember her, ever."

She turns around again and leaves the Joker alone. He shivers when she is gone.

"Ugh! She gives me the creeps! Come on get you head in the game Joker! Hehe that was a good one."

He smiles and looks towards the Pridelands direction.

"Watch out Kion, Sumu Mwefu is coming for you! Hahahaha!"
