The Pridelands is slowly waking up to a new day, the sunlight is illuminating over the savannah. A lone baobab tree stands in completely darkness, but not for long. The baobab tree gets filled with the natures colors of the sun. Inside of the tree is laying two felines cuddled up to each other, sleeping peacefully. A beam of sunlight sneaks into the tree and wakes up one of the felines that is a female cheetah. Fuli slowly opens her emerald eyes and brushes them with her paws. She looks towards where her mate is still sleeping peacefully. She stares at him for a few minutes, hoping to see some movements from him but there is no movements at all, not even a little one. She thinks back to yesterday where all this happend, when Kion got hurt and she couldn't do anything to prevent it from happening. She could feel the rage boiling in her chest, she wanted to shred Janja to pieces. To feel the blood on her paws and claws, but she had to be strong for Kions sake. She knew that how she felt was wrong but she couldn't help it. Unaware she had her fangs bared in the process, her ears suddenly perked up to the sound of movement beside her. She looked to her right and saw that Kion was twitching in his sleep, she cuddled against him again to try and calm down the lion cub. This seemed to work as he stopped twitching and slept peacefully once again. Rafiki had told her that Kion could be twitching in his sleep a lot the next days, because of the shock he got from bleeding. She nuzzled his fur mostly for her own sake to get the feeling of being safe, but also to show how much she cares about him. She did this for hours, but no matter how much she did this tears was still streaming down her face. Fuli wanted to stop crying but she just couldn't stop thinking of the worst for Kion, for herself. Would she ever see Kion like the playfully and caring lion again like he was? She didn't know. All she wanted was to see him smile again, to see him laugh, to see him having that special look on his face when they were playing with each other, that special sparkle in his eyes when they just were together. To be themself, just him and her where nobody interrupted them. Only one thing seemed to help for her to feel better, a hunt. She arose to all fours, she licked Kions forehead before she headed outside. It had rained, she could tell because the air was fresh and cold. She took a deep breath sniffing in all the scents that is around her. Her nose tinkled to one special scent she couldn't resist.
A gazelle was nearby.
She smiled at this, it was her favourite animal to hunt after all. It tastes so good, evertime she thought about it made her mouth water. The best part wasn't to eat it, sure she loved to dig her teeth into it's flesh and taste the meat and blood. The best part was the hunt, she felt free everytime she did it, she didn't have to worry about other things than just her and the prey in that exact moment. She followed the scent, her nose was close to the ground and she was soon only a pouncing distance away from the gazelle. She took careful steps and was crouched low to the ground, the time was close to strike. And in a blink of an eye she ran after the the gazelle, the chase had begun. The gazelle was fast but Fuli was faster, she was just at the end of it but she had to get further up ahead to get it by the throat, she had learned that this was the best way to bring it down.
"HUWEZI!"
With that she was at the side of the gazelle, she leaped at the gazelle and her grip was good and she aimed for the throat but missed first time and almost fell of. She didn't give up tho, she tried again and succeeded. The gazelle lost speed and when it was down to walking she used all her strength to bring it down to the ground. The gazelle gave a huge thud and was just laying on the ground, it was dead but she didn't let go yet. She would be sure that it was dead, after a couple of minutes she let go. She layed down panting, she loved to feel like this for some reason, maybe because she knew that she had succeded. Fuli layed down for five minutes and arose to all fours right after. She looked at the gazelle and a little smile was forming on her muzzle.
"Sorry gazelle, looks like I won again."
She said smiling at her victory. Fuli was about to eat but she hesitated, she thought of Kion again. She wanted him to be there with her on the hunt, to share this meal with him. She wanted to glorify him like she always did when Kion did a good job helping her, but he weren't. She sighed and began to eat, she ate until she couldn't anymore. The gazelle didn't taste as good is it used too, she was to worried about Kion if not depressed. She decided to walk back towards Rafiki's tree where Kion was, she just wanted to be by his side snuggling against him. She began to walk but stopped in her tracks when her ears perked up, she had caught a scent from a lioness. She spun around to see if she could find the lioness, but there was no lioness. Fuli turned around again and walked towards Rafiki's tree a little faster this time, she felt like she was being watched. She wasn't wrong. Zahra wasn't too far away from her, she quickly noticed that Fuli was worried about Kion. This made a smile brush across her muzzle, she could use this to her advantage. She just had to wait for the right time.
